Wild video shows Florida carjacker get hit by police car after sprawling chase

A desperate Florida carjacker led cops on a multi-county chase in a stolen box truck Monday, smashing into vehicles and swerving across lanes before getting clipped by a police car while escaping on foot.

Brandon Baker, 33, of Riverview, was reportedly involved in a carjacking before he made off with the white truck in Tampa around 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers attempted to stop Baker but he hit the gas and sped along both residential streets and highways with officers from multiple counties in pursuit, according to Click Orlando.

Dashcam footage of the chase shows Baker careening into several vehicles during the 30-minute chase and weaving dangerously across busy lanes of traffic.

The video shows him shearing the bumper off a police car at one point.

Around 7:30 a.m., Baker finally jumped out of the truck at a Gainesville intersection and tried to escape on foot while surrounded by several police vehicles.

But that effort ended abruptly after he ran directly into a cop car and crumpled to the ground.

Baker continued to resist before finally being subdued and handcuffed.
