Worldloppet Stories Regulations

  1. The Worldloppet Stories Project is aimed at collecting and sharing stories of participants, Worldloppet workers, volunteers and all stakeholders involved with Worldloppet in present and past times

  2. Stories requirements. Stories should:
    • Entail one episode that concerns the Worldloppet Ski Federation or one of its 20 races
    • Be maximum 500 words long
    • Be sent together with a picture or a video representing the story or the protagonist
    • Stories can be sent in different languages from English – see point 3 of the regulations
    • Some example stories will be published from April 6th to April 11th on the Worldloppet website

  3. Language of the stories. All stories will be published in English on the Worldloppet website. Nevertheless, skiers can write in their own language if their language is available in the list that follows. In this case, stories will be translated with the help of the race organizations and published in both original language and English. Translations are available for: German, Italian, French, Russian, Estonian, Czech, Chinese, Japanese, Swedish, Spanish, Finnish, Norwegian, Polish, Icelandic.

  4. Where and when to send stories. Stories should be sent together with a representative picture or video to presse@worldloppet.com before May 31st, 2020.

  5. Allowance to publish the stories. By sending their stories and pictures or videos, people allow Worldloppet to use the files sent for the purposes of the project both on the website, social media and eventual publications.

  6. Stories publication: Only the first 30 stories sent will be published on the Worldloppet website and will be eligible to win one of the prizes. Should there be more than 30 stories coming in, those will still be kept within the project and published later on – the Worldloppet board has also the right to extend the project for more weeks, should many stories come in.

  7. Stories evaluation: for the purpose of allocating prizes, stories will be ranked according to Facebook interactions (given by comments, likes, shares). This means that the sooner the stories are sent, the higher chances to win a prize are.

  8. Prizes: the prizes for the project are kindly offered by the races and Worldloppet and will be decided at the end of the project. Here you can find a list of the prizes:

The 3 most liked stories (according to Facebook interaction) will receive the top-3 prizes, while the remaining prizes of the list will be drawn amongst the stories sent until May 31st, 2020.

  1. WORLDLOPPET STORYTELLER PRIZE: Worldloppet Ski Suit + Worldloppet passport and 1 prize of choice out of the list!
  2. 2ND PRIZE: 1 Ski-vest + Worldloppet Passport + 1 prize of choice out of the list!
  3. 3RD PRIZE: 1 T-shirt “races”+ Worldloppet Passport + 1 prize of choice out of the list!
