Dior Homme Sport 2017 by Dior is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men. Dior Homme Sport 2017 was launched in 2017. The nose behind this fragrance is François Demachy. Top notes are Blood Orange, Grapefruit, Lemon and Pear; middle notes are Pink Pepper, Nutmeg and Geranium; base notes are Sandalwood and Vetiver.

The first version of Dior Homme Sport fragrance came out in 2008. The reformulation of Dior Homme Sport from 2012, made as a more elegant and powdery variation, is replaced by this new edition in February 2017. Dior Homme Sport "rediscovers itself" like a scent of "urban, sophisticated and sexy nonchalance," guided by the idea of a fast and dynamic lifestyle.

Dior's in-house perfumer Francois Demachy created all the previous versions of this fragrance. The new version is created with the addition of "extreme" fruits, "explosive" notes, spices, herbs and woods. Citrus accords of lemon, blood orange and grapefruit open the composition. The spicy heart includes notes of pink pepper and nutmeg, lying on the woody base of sandalwood and vetiver.

The bottle was also renovated with a softer color of liquid and a more "refined" packaging. The face of the advertising campaign is actor Robert Pattinson, and the motto is "Life is a Playground."

The fragrance is available as a 50, 75 and 125 ml Eau de Toilette.

This is excellent. Such a pleasure to wear. Would make a great signature for someone who enjoys simple pleasant refined scents. Granted it wouldn’t impress a niche snob but people will tell you you smell great. I wear it to work on the regular. Would also work great as a summer dumb reach. Such a shame they discontinued this year as I find the new version overbearing.

2018 bottle opened in 2024
might be why I'm not smelling any bright lemon citrus
from the note breakdown I expected a similarity to Creed's Viking Cologne
DHS2017 leans into the muted citrus blood orange to create a serious and elegant "sport" fragrance
first wear and it seems too classy for the gym
no regrets blind buying but it's probably not a repeat buy

wizkid04

The most elegant sport version. You could wear this with a formal attire

Jacobmolen I kinda get what you are saying. Interestingly familiar spicy-freshness is what reminds me of Sauvage.

JacobMolen

I will post a review when I’ve worn it for a Week or two. But honest question: Does anybody else get a slight Sauvage edp vibe from this one? At least in the top notes? Feels like the same citrus blast.

vinakaisa05z

it doesn't project well

Realest Rater 47

Bro this stuff is absolutely GOATED
It checks all the marks of being versatile mass appealing good performance but it also smells unique and smells very very good. Its creamy woody smooth citrus and it is also classy yet casual and not classy in a old man way. Signature scent worthy.

NOT YOUR LOCKER ROOM FANTASY

I first bought this on my trip to Greece in 2018. I wore this on my first afternoon in Mykonos and it mixed so well with the scent of the salty air. The sweetness of the pear with the geranium and sandalwood....WOW.

I later rebought this in 2021 and it doesn't smell the same. It still has hints of the notes I remember from that trip. I still love it and it brings back a lot of memories. I spray this like 15 times and it creates this scent bubble around me and can't stop smelling myself. LOL

All I can say is Dior perfumery is EXCELLENT!!!

Lemon sherbet with bazooka joe bubblegum and a light musk base....light, young and playful, very pleasant for the nose.....same ball park as Versace man eau fraische....I like it.

Dior Homme is one of the most interesting lines in the designer perfumery.
I just can't get enough of pretty much all of them. Now I added this in my collection and I am enjoying this big time. Didn't like the new 2022 as it's too lemony for my taste, hope it will grow on me, but this is such an easy elegant fragrance. Super balanced, nothing it's too much. I just wish was projecting a bit better but this is not what this perfume meant to be. It is a subtle, super elegant, attractive scent.

Realest Rater 47

This stuff smells good asf imo

Joaoppp

Hello. I had this perfume years ago and last week I bought it again. The bottle is identical, but I'm not sure if it's the same version. Is it still manufactured? How do I know the difference between the 2012 and the 2017? Thanks

Sasha_M

If you like Sean John 3am, you will love this one. They have similarities. Dior is toned down, very polished, well blended and high quality.

mohd982614

The dry down of this is almost the same as the 2007 version. This later starts fresh with citrus and then ginger, but they both dry down to a creamy somehow powdery freshness.
Both are great but I still miss the super fresh top notes of the 2007.

Marcjohn86

2017 version, despite not listing it in it's ingredients, definitely has iris in it. It's not the focus like it is in other Dior Homme fragrances, but it's a supporting note that lends a soapy, floral heart to the fragrance. For some reason, this is the one that everyone seems to point at as not being worth owning, but it's such a great freshie that doesn't just do the same old shit, and it has that classic DHS ginger/citrus opening that has become a staple for all versions, and it's one of the best openings in the entire fragrance game.

Jay Blak

Tacosalads review was spot on, especially about the dry down being wimpy. The opening is glorious and its a pretty versatile fragrance considering it’s marketed as a sport fragrance. It really shines in the high heat so don’t spray this in cooler conditions and expect to get the full effect of what it’s capable of.
ALSO, I detect a slight undertone of iris in the 2017 but not the 2021.

RhettB27

Similar to other comments below, this was one I liked okay initially and personally found the 2012 and 2021 Sports much more preferable for my tastes, but over time it has proven to be one I hold close to the other two. It is vibrant with awesome citrus and the pear helps add a great fruity element to bolster, well-layered with the trademark pink pepper that remained as a heart note in the 2021 version and is even a focal point of the 2020 Dior Homme. A nice Vetiver and Sandalwood base provide a different woody finish than the cedary 2020 and also 2021 Sport, and while I don’t think it’s anything crazy still it really accomplishes what it wants to very effectively and I admire it for that. As a “sport” frag I personally find it to encapsulate that idea and vibe much better than the 2012 or 2021 Sport as well for what it’s worth.

His and her 2 scents

So, I've been on a Dior Homme journey the last couple months. I have the 2021 version and the 2017 version of Sport. Both smell amazing to me but I have to say the 2017 version is the best to my nose. It has so much more citrus to it than the 2021 version and I love it for that!! Great longevity and the sillage is good also. I got a 6.8 Oz bottle for 90 bucks, a steal.

Arber Cami

Really nice warm weather scent from Dior Homme. Nice balance of citruses, woods with a hint of spiciness. Longevity is good for a fresh scent.

Blind buy (9C01, March-2019 batch),

I am never familiar with Dior Homme Sport line or actually whole Dior Homme line.
However price in resell market here in Thailand is extremely high, almost 145 usd for new 200 ml. bottle.
Make me wonder why we crazy about this DNA?

While I think Dior Homme Sport will associate something with signature Iris note.
This one seems to be the pioneer of whole new Dior Homme route where we actually are.
I manage to grab one 70 USD one for 95 ml. bottle left of 125 ml. so I try.

About only Dior Homme Sport Flankers line, I think this direct competitor here are clear.
Which is Chanel Allure Homme Sport. This smell so similar to Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme.
Only to reduce sweetness and Vanilla base to some extend which I quite appreciate when I go somewhere hotter.
After I review the note, that why I see personal connection in both fragrance.

The sweetness in Dior Homme Sport 2017 is fresher as sweetness come from Pear and Geranium.
unlike Tonka and Vanilla. But top note and middle are very reminiscent of Chanel Allure Homme Sport EE.
Just add a drop of slickness from Nutmeg, overall it is fresher tone from Allure Homme Sport EE.

As Chanel Allure Homme Sport mildly has Marine accord. This is what I am imagining if we have
Lighter version of Allure Homme Sport EE. Which I will consider this as Good blind buy for me personally.

However, hunting for a double price of Dior Homme sport 2021 I feel it a bit stressful imo.

Scent-wise, it truly sport cologne that will not interrupt anyone. Handsome & Energetic.
I would say this is solid 7/10 you can buy if you face a good deal.

=====
Edit 1 : March 20, 2023.

I just have chance to try, Dior Homme Sport 2021 and I found that this profile is much more beautiful than Dior Homme Sport 2021. 2017 provide fresh citrus in Singature Dior accord that smell really present and classy.

Scent is mellow and clean, I go 8 sprays and it still emit soft bubble cloud.
And longivity is real for freshy, 5-6 hours on skin and 8 hours on cloth.
Even this is Sport colonge. I feel this have potential much more than Sport wear.

I decided to stock this up 4 bottles of 125 ml. (90 USD / bottles) This is what I want to wear when I go somewhere hot but reamins present thoughout the day.

Rating increase to 9/10.

Mostafa mostafa

best perfume for summer very good withe sweaty hi humidity

xopreciseox

This is basically "Orange De Chanel" or "Bleu De Chanel Sport EDT".

Dixieland Delight

It's fine. 2021 sport is vastly superior in my opinion.

This is very soft, smells classy, low projection, citruses are fuzzy.

Nice soft subtle fuzzy citrus scent. Well overwhelm nobody and offend nobody.

Not bad.

Rating: 7

UPDATE: after a couple of wearings, it's nicer than I thought. The subtle classiness comes through, and the soft velvety citruses are very Dior.

Smells amazing, but performance is extremely bad for being a Dior perfume!! 🙁

Mr.Andersson

Very nice fragrance! Enjoyed it every time I sprayed it.

Infevo

One of the view bottles I actually emptied in no time. You can't overdo it with this. Even stress testing it in the gym. It remains pleasant throughout the dry down.

realestrater444

Creamy citrus on top of soft creamy woodiness. Blood orange is the main note I pick up on and it smells wonderful. Soft, clean classy. Its clean, inviting, and classy. Soft fragrance not super in your face strong. Very well blended and great quality. Doesn't smell like but gives me the same vibes as Bleu de Chanel. Projection moderate and longevity is decent. Great for work, date nights and upscale events. Very attractive smelling to women as well.

Tacosalad

I see why it got a little flack when it came out but I also see that it does have merit in the line and is a very clean uplifting scent. Not a complicated one. Kind of a simple fragrance for Dior. Unlike the newest 2021 formula the 17 shines more from beginning to the mid with its almost juicy citrus opening but gets quaint and wimpy in the dry down. The new one is almost bitter and sour before dry down then settles into a more woody crisp fresh masterpiece! However the 17 is in fact more a fresh and clean office safe, less pushy on people near you. Better for situations when you don’t want to announce yourself but still want to smell clean and inviting . These last two formulas of sport you can wear in shorts and a tee shirt and not feel you are over doing it. Smells like fresh linens left to dry outside in a citrus grove that was just mowed. Not too soapy and not too blue with a touch of green. Reeks Of high quality and sophistication BUT……
The negative is it’s poor longevity. I have learned to spray on clothes because on my colder skin and in A/C this doesn’t last long for it’s price. On clothes I am lucky to get 8 hours. On skin it disappears to my nose at most in about 4. This is best when used out in the sun on a hot day or while exercising. I’m not a huge Dior guy because Iris makes me feel underdressed unless I’m formally dressed and just not my favorite scent note. So the lack there of in the last 2 Sport flankers have been my favorites of the house. I prefer the new 2021 one over this but not by a huge margin.
8/10 my summer most worn!

Catacal

Quite nice, am able to draw similarities with the Dior Homme 2020. The woodiness is not as strong but its there. I dont mind it because if I wanted to project then I'd wear Dior Homme. This is more casual wear but still oozes the quality of Dior Homme.

khoi0402

I'm so happy that I found a fragrance that suits me for everyday use! This is sport, but I feel it suits for more than that. somehow it leaves me the feeling of smelling warm clothes after just ironing. Clean, neat and smell great. I wouldn't mind if it doesn't last long because if it did, it wouldn't give the exact feeling anymore.

SmellGoodSB

Not going by the recency bias, this reminds me of Dior Homme Sport 2012, minus the Iris. This is, by all means, better than the 2021 avatar. If you want the last Dior release, not going to the overly woody, ISO E Super heavy, aldehedic formulations, it's your last chance to pick it up. Getting more rare by the hours.

lovebovorn

THE BEST citrus .

Owl_pr

My favorite fragance. I come from a hot island and the performance is waaay beter than with cold weather.
If you are planning for some sweating-this is the one. Dior Sport.

Afc_Croatian

Just beautiful. Dior continues to perfect the genre it goes for with its fragrances.
Dior Homme Sport dominates in the gym and Summer categories and checks off every box;
Smooth and pleasing citrus. Juicy opening. Gentle drydown of woods.
The grapefruit is dominant and catching, you can really tell the fragrance is high-end and smooth, I say it is worth the price. I bought a 125ml off a seller for $60. Absolute bargain.
Perfection.

brandawg_kessel

No joke, received this from a young friend whose mother works at Dior. A 4.3 OZ bottle had me invested and let me just say this fragrance is juicy as hell. It opens with a calm, fruity note and ends down in a woody, spicy note. I forgot I sprayed it on when I woke up and thought it was Bleu De Chanel EDP (the drydown, not the opening.) only to realize it was Dior Homme Sport 2017. I don’t know why people call this boring because it’s my casual and gym scent with good performance. I was in a crowd of people at a party of mine and a girl (a friend of mine) told me that I smelled good. Also, while I was leaving: an older (maybe 30) told me where he can get a fragrance like mine. I told him Dior, he asked: “Dior Sauvage?” I laughed and told him the earlier reformulation of Dior Homme Sport. Never saw him again, but I hope he found it. Anyways:

Scent: 9.7/10
Performance: 9/10
Reliability/Versatility: 10/10
Dumb reach?: Yes
What it reminds me of: A meadow of citrusy fruits in a woody forest
Do I recommend?: Far better than the 2020 one, but I recommend Dior Homme Intense. Pick this up if you enjoy being fresh as hell, though.

goodluck28

This is a fragrance that i can spray to my neck, because it's not that strong, and does not give me a headache. But this fragrance lasts all day. And it's very classy. specially the drydown, creamy sandalwood. I had compliments while wearing this during summer.

Kelz23

Wore this today in the High Florida heat and man this some good stuff. Buy if you have the chance. Don’t even think about it

Samering1

I love the opening on this. Very spicy fresh citrus, almost like a sparkling citrus drink when you first pop it open. I see this as an all around year fragrance. I own Dior Homme 2020 and this dries down to a strikingly similar smell to my nose. Not exact but similar. I blind bought this and I have a 125ml bottle for swap if anyone interested

BossDon519

This is awesome got this today off my plug. Was hopping to get the newer batch but this is an awesome scent. I already know in the warmer weather this will get girls attention. I recommend 5-6 sprays for that good projection for about 2 hours. After that it becomes this creamy sexiness. Trust me you will be that dude if your lucky to get a hold of this one.

BEmmett20

I don’t know why I slept on this for so long. I’m a big fan of Dior Homme 2020, so I was excited about their new release, Dior Sport (21), but to me the 2017 version is what I would like to smell like when the weather turns warmer.

The 2021 Dior Sport is a bit too heavy on the lemon at the top for me - but the 2017 version really nails that refreshing, effervescent feeling. I really like the creaminess that the sandalwood provides, and even though the scent does fade a bit, this is the type of scent that you don’t mind reapplying to give you that burst in the open.

A few others have pointed this out as well, but this really does feel like an updated version of Chanel’s Allure Sport, but without the aldehydes and tonka base - which keeps DHS more sporty and fresh in my opinion.

Very well done! I’m planning to grab two big bottles before they disappear.

kshane73

Better and more effervescent/sporty and manly than the latest 2021 DHS. Get it while you can!

Mina Abdo

Very clean and mature. I wish if it lasts longer.

mikkeyyy

So glad I got the big size bottle before they reformulated this. Honestly, I was expecting them to do this because I already have Dior Homme and Sauvage and don't see how this cologne would fit into that line anymore. I expect them to re-release this as an "original" version because it would be a shame to completely discontinue it. It is a really elegant and nonoffensive cologne that is great for the office and everyday use. I am excited for the new formulation though since I really like Sauvage and Dior Homme.

Candyandy

Discontinued, will be replaced by Dior Homme Sport 2021. If you have emotional attachment towards this 2017 version I'd recommend stocking up before the prices become sky high from resellers.

YekenLarroche

Versatile, top quality and refined blue fragrance for a good price.
The dearest son of Bleu de Chanel and Versace Man Eau Fraiche, this one captures the refinement of one and the free spirit of the other resulting in an inoffensive marketing treat "ohhh its bleu de chanel... no wait, my brain is not cloying, but soothing...".
Performance is more than decent. Does everything good except being original - but it does provide a good top tier alternative for daily usage. 8/10

gxbjw

Amazing opening, with an ok drydown. Ngl tho, if I had more money I would’ve bought this without hesitating. Doesn’t smell unique but definitely can be a daily driver.

Longevity and sillage is average.

Vat1cano

Great opening. But that's as far as it goes.
So ent last more than 45 mins on my skin.
I also tend to be warm blooded.

I really wanted to buy this but couldn't justify due to the poor performance

Johnzy12

Smells like citrus shower gel. Not bad but not exciting. Would be perfect for its purpose though-sport.

tyleam

The opening is wonderful but the heart and base are forgetable. To me, it is really fresh in the opeing, too spicy in the middle, and not enough vetiver in the base. It becomes skin scent quickly (within 2 hours) and is too pricey for the performance.

adelsbjm

My go-to office for hot weather. The short time in which I can perceive its uplifting and invigorating scent is worth the fact to me that it doesn't give me longer than 2-4 hours. Much prefer this scent to DH2020 which gives me 12+ longevity.

mikkeyyy

It's such an underrated cologne. If anyone wants a signature everyday cologne then this is it. It's a modern version of Allure Homme Sport with a hint of Dior Homme 2020.

Addict2Perfume

Dior Homme Sport 2017 is an under rated gem! This is a warm citrus cologne which is not how I most commonly describe men’s fragrances. The base blend of this fragrance is a very smooth vetiver, creamy sandalwood, and a distinct soft-spicy-sweetness of nutmeg. Believe it or not I think the geranium is what actually cuts down the sourness of the citrus top notes and brings a balance while still allowing them to be sweet and refreshing. This fragrance is impeccably suave and has a refined youthfulness to it that most “Sport” fragrance editions cannot pull off. I can still smell the DNA of the original Dior Homme which maintains how inviting this fragrance is. As a woman who enjoys this fragrance, I highly recommend it for men.

Arsenal Till I Die

This is a stunner sports fragrance from Dior. If I didn’t look at the notes in the beginning, I smell a sweet, sugary 7up. It has a fizzy zing about it in the opening which smells like very fresh, sweet citrus fruits and has that same molecule in it from 2012 which is that sort of calone vibe which transitions into a more creamy fragrance from the nutmeg and sandalwood as it dries down. Dior quality written all over it which makes this highly versatile and any age appropriate. Solid performance. Suprised me that’s for sure!

ordarapeli

this is so fresh and i like it , the grapefruit is reminded me of bleu de chanel quality grapefruit and i love that , great experience deserves a try , you put this in the morning and it will wake you up really,
i think ( Dior Homme ) is the best line fragrance in history period 🖤
i give this: 8.5

Ford4630

Recently picked up a 200ml tester bottle with a 2018 batch code for €60. Very happy indeed. Performance is a bit better than I expected. Quite zesty and bright compared to DHO, DHI and DHP versions. Not groundbreaking but it probably has a lot more real-life versatility than the rest of the DH line up, with the exception of the rather unfortunate 2020 Dior Homme EDT (which should have been given a new name).

Overall verdict: a welcome addition to my collection, I can see myself using this one quite a lot, as it’s clean, inoffensive and good value. By the way, it currently seems to be slightly easier to get hold of than it’s Iris scented cousins where I live.

Scotty123

I have given this one a few wearings and I’ve grown to love it for real. It’s not a cheap smelling Sport fragrance. It’s got a class and sophistication to it as well. A beautiful citrus and spice with the same Vetiver they use in Sauvage as the dry down. This one will remain in my collection forever.

petero321

I really enjoy wearing this one and others around me seem to like it too. I’m new to exploring fragrances and had been wearing Diesel Fuel For Life for about 10 years! Then as my life and my taste was changing I wanted to try some new scents. Anyway, it’s not the best performer and doesn’t last me a full 12 hour shift, I get about 7-8 hours out of it and a bit more if I spray on my t-shirt which is pretty good. I really like the citrusy opening which doesn’t smell like cleaner to me as it’s got more class to it, probably from the woods. I personally haven’t smelled anything too similar but then I’ve not tried that many fragrances, probably only around 50 including samples. I tend to lean towards this one quite regularly along with BDC parfum.

81louder

I dont get the hate. It has citrus laundry clean style similar to MFKs Aqua Vitae or Universalis with comparable quality and performance for half the price. Its not the most creative or unique scent, but its super versatile without being banal or rude. Predecessors in this line may have been better, but this one is still pretty good on its own.

Le Chypriote

Here's another honest review. I have the 2017 version.

I can understand why this release gets frowned upon by fragcomm. The Dior Homme brand is revered and their fragrances are considered some of the most groundbreaking in the industry. The expectations were high, and you can understand why this flanker was so heavily criticized.

It's a great scent, with citrus bursting out the opening, but as you know, the top notes don't last very long. And so after a couple hours you're left with something...good. Not great, but good.

A few people have compared this to Bleu de Chanel. I get the comparison and similarities. Could it be the sandalwood accord?
The dry-down reminds me of an upscale Nivea Men Post Shave Balm.

All in all it's a great choice if you need something more fresh and casual than Dior Homme EDT. But get it at the discounters - don't pay full retail for this.

Slava29

This is not going to get me any balloons but I'm going to heartily agree with my non-balloon, comment section brethren and say that this fragrance is pedestrian at best. Dior is my favourite house and their standards are extremely high, but this boring, citrus yawn simply doesn't meet them. Sport fragrances are tough, but I still expected more from Dior.

Steven221283

Well this really has gone downhill, hasn't it? I used to have the original release and the 2012 reformulation and they were both great (the original being the best one, but I loved the 2012 version too). I tried this in a department store last week and wow, it's like a completely different fragrance. I don't mean that in any kind of good way, at all. Maybe they had a dodgy tester bottle out, but it was John Lewis so I can't imagine that was the case, which leads me to believe that the most recent version is just poor. Powdery, dull and boring was what I got. How disappointing.

MarkoPeeko

I don’t know what’s happened here. I first wore this around 2011/12 and it was a monster of a scent. Stunning, beautifully created. Always got compliments. Then, I had a bottle brought from the UK to Aus as a birthday present about 3 years ago. It was like it had been watered down. The projection and longevity had gone. Barely a skin scent after a couple of hours. May have been a dodgy batch, but it’s put me off buying another bottle.

Mjchaelj

Juicy ripe citruses, so good. A very unassuming and classy scent. A great everyday fragrance, I can see myself wearing this with a tee shirt and jeans and also dressed up for lunch. I just wish it lasted longer than the 3-4 hours I got. I think the new 2021 version is a little better and longer lasting.

8/10

Martin__

After spending more than 4 years with this fragrance I am getting sick of it. I don’t know if it’s my perception changed that much but I am getting strong synthetic deodorant/shower gel note that makes me sick. It also reminds me of Paco Rabanne’s Invictus in a way.

I am not rejecting this from my collection yet, but I’m having really hard times each time I throw Dior Homme Sport 2017 on me :(

blacklite911

Opens with super bright citrus up top. About 15 minutes in citrus starts fading away to reveal a clean, powdery dryer sheet/deodorant smell. Makes sense that this is a sport flanker. Citrus is great but most of the fragrance's life can be similarly served by a less expensive buy.

Mr.dondunna7

This is a very well done fragrance. The vibe I get is a juicy blood orange which I love, the pear gives off a fruity vibe. It's a fresh, spicy with the pink pepper and I definitely get a shower gel vibe.

The drydown of this fragrance is where this fragrance shines. The warm and creamy sandlewood along with a woody vetiver makes this an elegant beauty of a fragrance. This is a white t-shirt type of fragrance for those hot summer days that will be in my rotation for the summer.

Tyriel

Amazing fragrance. If you like Dior Homme 2020, you will love this one. It is like the younger, fruitier/zesty, more playful brother of Dior Homme 2020. I own both and I love both. Do not get put-off by the Sport name and think it is a generic sporty scent. There is nothing generic about this. It smells very high quality and quite unique. I bet women will love it. Projection is good, you will be smelled. Longevity is great. I can smell it on me all day.

manygaga

I never really looked into this one because almost nobody talked about it. Some say it's generic. Some say they need the iris. Some say it's fogettable. After smelling Dior Homme 2020 and liking it I decided to smell Dior Homme Sport 2017... And I really like it. This is a very well done fragrance. The blood orange is amazing, the pear gives off a fruity vibe and the dry down is what makes the Dior Homme line if you ask me: a warmth that is find along the whole line (yes even in the iris heavy ones). Dior Homme Sport is not generic to me but a classic manly fragrance taken into the 21st century. It has a great sillage of light citrus with warm sandlewood and a woody vetiver. It's rather elegant than "sporty". I have to say I'm a sucker for fragrances like that (highly versatile and work friendly) because I work with a lot of people and my job is pretty physical so I can not wear those heavy rum, vanilla and oud fragrances. So Dior Homme Sport works excellent for me.

mo choudhury

wanted a summer fragrance, instead I found my standard everyday dumb reach which Dior Sauvage EDT and Bleu De Chanel EDT were suppose to be and the reason why I brought them two.
Sauvage I gave away and BDC has just been sitting there.
so Dior homme sport 2017 is my day scent and Dior homme 2020 is my night scent for summer now.

to be honest I got Dior sport 2017 to just finish off my Dior Homme line collection.
and 30£ for the 75ml can't really complain. can't complain about DH 2020 as I got that for 35£ for the 100ml.

Penguinmania

Really nice hot weather office fragrance. In the air it smells almost identical to Dior Homme 2020, up close it has more similarities to Chanel Allure Homme Sport. It has the good aspects of DH 2020 but without the overload of Iso-E Super and Dry Patchouli, and doesn't go overboard with the sport deodorant thing like CAHS. The citrus blend in this is excellent. It's not a monster performer so you'll have to reapply after 5 to 6 hours but it's still a decent performer.

Scent 10/10
Longevity 6.5/10
Projection 6.5/10

I am really in love with Dior Homme line of fragrances. However, if I was to rank them, I would definitely put this one at the end. The line is completely original and sophisticated. But we have smelled the same scent of Dior Homme Sport in many other designers. There is nothing groundbreaking about the scent or the performance. Its like a blend of Versace Pour Homme, Versace Eros, with light similarities to Bleu de Chanel.

I cannot justify paying the price tag of Dior on something that I can get from Versace for half the price. Its just your typical citrusy fresh summer fragrance nothing more and nothing less.

Maybe if Dior put this one in a seprate line other than Dior Homme and added “Dior Homme 2020” with it, it will make much better sense other than adding these to Dior Homme line.

the_internetguy

The Dior Homme line is simply excellent. I own all except Eau and Parfum, which are difficult to acquire. The Sport flanker is slightly redundant to Cologne in my opinion, but they are still different enough for me to keep both. Sport, despite the name, is the more office friendly of the two, since Cologne is more juicy and fruity, i.e. "playful".

These are not cheap, but still give great value for money. Compared to Chanel equivalents they are still fairly affordable.

dp4

very reminiscent of Chanel's allure Homme cologne in my opinion... This scent is soooo French. Refined and smooth.

Not really exciting enough for me.. the blood orange in here is great, then all I really get after is geranium giving it some density and sandalwood at the base to make it last a little longer!!

WCR

Such an uplifting scent! Smells like sliced citruses on a powder filled tray (in a good way), with sweetness added later on. Projection and longevity are average on me. Overall I love it! Just wish it last longer.

Tharan

Bought this in 2019 but really never used it much and never really had a chance to review it. Here in my country the weather is hot couple of days so decide to spray this. Wow..the embodiment of freshness ! Strong creamy citrus fragrance. For me CD has nailed it with this frag. Super fresh citrus bomb. Not the synthetic type of Citrus but a very creamy thick delicious citrus and I feel the quality of the juice. After an hour the middle notes like pink pepper is noticeable. other notes are just in the background but the notes of blood orange, grapefruit & lemon lingers on even after the dry down. The combination is delicious. This frag is for summer or bright days. Suitable for morning and night especially if the weather is hot. Just like it. This is a better fresh fragrance compared to Christian Dior's competitors. Projection is quite strong at arm's length for 1 to 2 hours and slowly gets closer to few inches of your body from 3rd hour. Sillage is good too..people are going to notice if they are standing near you. Longevity on me is around 6 hours which I consider good. It is safe to wear to office, gym or a night out, versatile frag IMHO.

Cole73

Very prominent blood orange and citrus opening. Extremely fresh, slightly spicy, and there is some sweetness to it. I get geranium in the mid that adds freshness. The dry down is powdery sweet sandalwood with vetiver. The blood orange/citrus goes away after a few hours or so. Overall, it's a fresh and vibrant fragrance perfect for warmer months. But, the blood orange is so prominent and I'm not totally in love with it

mr_________a

not very nice what so ever thanks but no thanks dior

js71

Its a great one for the spring/summer only, opens with a blast of citrus that lasts a good while, settles down with a mild sweetness and longevity is good, it reminds me of other summer freshies but with better performance, sat here trying it in winter does not blow me away but i am sure it will come summer with a fresh polo shirt on.

jellisunc

Does this remind anyone else of Sean John's 3AM? I mean, they even copied Dior's bottle design and atomizer.... anyway, this is way better than 3AM and actually what I was expecting from SJ.

It opens with beautiful citruses in the top, can't get enough of that blood orange! It is a very bright and citric fragrance, I don't get too much from the geranium, but I can pick up the slight pepperiness and nutmeg in the mid. It quickly dries down into a predominantly vetiver fragrance to my nose, I just wish the opening lasted longer. Sad, but we all know citruses never last how we want them to!

I am surprised by how long this one lasted on my skin, I get over 12 hours+ with this, albeit sits close to the skin. I think this may be my go-to summer/warm spring fragrance this year and I am sure it gets even better in the sun!

This is somehow my first experience with the Dior Homme line other than the Cologne and it really has me wanting to try the others that I hear are heavy hitters! I think I will be looking at the original DH next and DHI, not sure if I will be lucky enough to try the Parfum!

EDIT: The more I wear this, the more I love it! Creamy orange in the top and then continues the creaminess as it dries into a sandalwood like base. This is a perfect spring scent and even great on these nasty rainy and cold days we've had recently.

RonSmith

Nice warm and creamy Blood orange scent, nothing Sporty here. I wouldn't even call it "fresh". It's a bit of a sweet unisex fragrance, very nice scent and the performance is decent. Nothing special.

I just can't understand why it got the "SPORT" label on it. Total misleading.

Eiland

Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, why Dior, why did you change the 2012 version into this bland, middle of the road, boring ass scent? There's really nothing to dislike here, it's just so plain boring. I love love loved the 2012 version, it was the one I was wearing the most, and now they changed it into this? So so sad, even though there really is nothing to actually dislike about it.

pjd1234

Got a 200ml tbh I thought i was getting the 2012 version 😪 as they have the exact same bottle to my surprised when I sprayed it, i was looking for the magical ginger/iris combo 🤣 where is it??? I didn’t realizes is what i have was the 2017 version 😩.

As for the scent, it is basically 2012 version without the iris, instead it is replaced with pepper (not harsh) and nutmeg which is not bad, but kinda generic (I don’t feel that sexiness vibe that i had with 2012) dries down with a generic wood smell. It’s not a bad fragrance don’t get me wrong, but compared to the previous sport releases this is the weakest just being honest here. Quality is great though very natural smell.

Longevity 6-7 hours for me
Projection moderate nothing crazy
Uniqueness “nothing unique here”
Price vs quality medium

smellthatshit

Tested Dior Homme Sport at Nordstrom and was blown away by how good it smelled. I bought it immediately. I love citrus scents and the blood orange is so good in this. Blended beautifully and a very pleasant scent. Not super manly but just smells amazing. My only complaint is it seems fairly weak as it only projects for an hour or two and then sits close to the skin. If it was a bit longer lasting, I would bathe in this stuff daily.

Kru23

Not trying to knock this cologne or anything but I picked up a bottle of Cremo’s Iced Citron and Driftwood for $20 and it smells almost identical to this and last maybe even a little bit longer.

mdmartin6

Very nice, this is my favorite citrusy fragrance ever. The bottle is gorgeous, the smell is amazing and the price isn’t too steep for what you get ($70-$80). I think that everyone should own this fragrance. Jeremy Fragrance said that they “Ruined it” I could not disagree more, I have not smelled the previous version but I LOVE the current formulation.

Chesco

A citrus + shower gel frag.

It's nice, and safe, but i personally want to wear something that's daring, a trail-blazer and addictively intoxicating.
This is not it. Getting a late 1990's vibe. Quality is there for a designer, it's citrus-refreshing but basic linear scent. This is good enough to be someone's signature scent. Because its citrus yummy this actually could work for a nice gym frag IF works with your body chemistry mixed with sweat.
This fragrance is really forgetable.

2.5/5 Woofs!

lightborn

This opens with a lovely fruity citrus. Quite fresh, natural smelling. Within about 10 minutes this dies down and we have the usual dry peppery spice taking over; to be expected but a bit of a shame. After a few hours what you're left with is a soft woodsy smell. My nose is getting quite good now (eventually!) at picking out notes so I can appreciate that the woodsy here is sandalwood.
All in all perfectly fine and likable. Yes its generic - let's not get into that again - but it's well done and not harsh.
Longevity is good; I've been getting over 7 hours with 3 small sprays to the neck. Sillage is moderate.

obahnas

I smelled this in 2018 and I got obsessed, and today I finally own it! A 2019 batch, to my luck.

Sprayed it two hours ago, I am still wowed by it. Such a beautiful, simple and chic fragrance.

Starts off with a blood orange and grapefruit, nothing too overpowering, then dries down to a subtle pink pepper and nutmeg, and the latter stays with you all the way to a beautiful vetiver-sandalwood base (that is just coming out). The vetiver in particular reminds me of my beloved Guerlain Homme edp.

This is definitely a spring/cool summer fragrance, a very smart casual, easy to wear, and understatedly chic fragrance. I can even imagine that working on a warm winter day.

No bombs. No overpowering notes. All subtle and sublime.

I am in love.

cielazure

I like to suppose it as Dior's new take of young, active and masculine summer freshie. I actually like the citrus blend (like blood orange and grapefruit), and a bit of pink pepper, sandalwood and vetiver smell on the base makes it deeper and mature. I used to prefer D&G's light blue sun as the last summer's beach scent, but since I found out it has been too sweet to me, I discovered it as a welcoming alternative. But honestly, I wish it to add ginger back at least. An advantage is that I find out the longevity is quite good even in hot temperature. Wore it to the beach at 36°C today and the scent seems like lasting about 5~6 hours. The smell even remains a bit after I took a shower when going back home.

If it hasn't replaced the 2008 or 2012 version of DHS but released under a new name (let me brainstorm a bit, something like "Sauvage Eau Fraîche"?), maybe it would be better. However, I'd say it's still worth to consider if you're finding a summer outdoor scent. A 100% safe blind buy and a crowd pleaser.

P.S. Well, Dior has changed the whole Dior Homme in this year, after all... What a mistake.

Bfreepro417

Short story: I absolutely LOVE IT.
Long story: Ok, I’ve tried this multiple times in the past couple years and it seems to be super polarizing and highly dependent on mood and weather/temperature. The first time I remember thinking “wow! This might just be the ultimate fresh/citrusy fragrance I’ve been searching for! Hopefully it lasts and drys down proper, because the opening is BEAUTIFUL” I smelled it constantly all day and seemed to fall out of love with it. I had this on one arm and another fragrance on the other arm. I ended up buying the other one.

Fast forward a few months, I try it again. And it was absolutely nothing like I remember. I got a tiny bit of citrus but it seemed to have an overwhelming scent of celery seed. It was weird and baffling. (These were all the 2017 version)

A year later I wanted something more light and airy and refreshing and remembered my first reaction to this. I go back to the store, tried Mont Blanc explorer, Gucci guilty, and this one. The drydown of DHS has this insanely beautiful sandalwood which I didn’t remember from before (granted, it’s now super hot weather and before it was cool/fall). I bought a bottle. And I am so glad I did.

This is such a well made scent, and from my experience above, it may be an acquired taste. I found the same with some other Dior men’s fragrances, kind of felt overrated at first sniff yet I’ve grown to love them. Anyway, back to DHS 2017. This scent is light, refreshing, uplifting, airy, and just gorgeous. The opening is such a rejuvenating blend of uplifting citrus, and it’s not overly bitter or too sweet, it’s perfect. You get the feeling you just stepped into a sacred orchard where orange and lemon trees grow all year round. The scent overall seems simple, but it’s more complex than it first appears. There’s a smooth, sweet floral vibe that ties it all together. It feels grounded, natural, and refined. The base is a beautiful and creamy sandalwood, but never loses that sweet citrusy floral vibe. It’s light, but long lasting. The sandalwood note reminds me of a lighter, more casual version of Sauvage Parfum (where Sauvage Parfum is heavy and dark and kind of “inky”, DHS is light and uplifting and has a more broad appeal). It’s an incredible and versatile scent that just perfectly fits my everyday personality and outlook on life. Casual, yet passionate. Sporty, yet sophisticated. Youthful, yet refined. Versatile and ready to tackle any occasion head on. Perfection! In my top five favorite fragrances.

I love it too much it’s really nice blends. I tired the others virgins 2008 and 2012 I love all of them even there are some comments took about this one not have the iris but it’s Still a nice and good

I LOVE the opening! I just wish it would smell like this for hours. Citrus just doesn't do that. OK. Once the citrus fades a little, a woody sweetness pushes through. Hours in, as a skin scent, there is an attractive sandalwood that is scrumptious. Blood Orange? I don't know if I pick it up next to the grapefruit. It's such a tasty fragrance.

a7_mad1991

The 2012 version was a MASTERPIECE. If it aint broke, dont fix it! Why did they change the formula? This one isnt bad per say, but just not as good :( The grapefruit note is annoying :(

Juiceman 0331

About a year ago I wrote review for this cologne with real sadness and disappointment because I love the iris and ginger combo from my 2012 version.
Today, I bit the bullet and bought this along with Dior Cologne and let me say it’s not as good as the 2012 iris - ginger version. But the blood orange, lemon and grape fruit citrus combo it is zaps me like an electric current and then a well balanced sweetness from the sandalwood and pear puts me to calm, it’s a ying and yang of citruses, sweet fruit and a little spice in the openinb
After 20 mins on my skin the sandal wood, nutmeg and pink pepper comes out while the citrus are still dominant scent which makes it fresh and sporty . It stays like that on my skin for about 5 hours then the citrus starts fading away and leaving the creamy sweet sandalwood and earthy vetiver.
The fragrance lasted on my skin for around 7 - 8 hours.

I still have my 2012 bottle and I still think that it’s better than the 2017, but don’t listen to people that have only tried it on paper or a singe time on them and they realize that the iris and ginger are gone and they knock the 2017 like it’s a terrible cologne (I was one of those people before).

The 2012 is gone and the market is flooded with “blue shower gel and aventus clones” and I’m just tired of them and if the 2017 DHS will be that breath of fresh air and I will accept it with open arms.
It’s 10x better than the blue fragrances that have no originality and is getting shoved into the fragrance community for the sake of mass appeal.

My rating: (My rating also considers my location which is Philippines that has a tropical weather and has 7,000+ islands. Thank you, Lord for this great paradise)

DHS 2012 9/10
DHS 2017. 7/10

Dior Cologne is another citrus explosion that’s really great here in the islands of the Philippines.

Why reformulation why dior !! 2012 version was amazing
I used 2012 dior homme sport and it’s one of best summer fragrances I ever tried
it was very high quality
The new one is smilar but I don’t like it
There is a lot of difference in smell
2012 version is masterpiece
The new one is piece of shit!! 👎

Some say they can smell iris in this, some say that it has been completely omitted.

Regardless of what the notes are, this is easily one of the best designer summer fragrance currently available in the market. Together with it's brother Dior Homme Cologne.

Dior Homme Sport opens up damp and floral with the iris, which is smoothed by the accompanying citrus notes. After an hour, the pink pepper starts seeping in to give this crackle of spice to the fragrance. Pink pepper is one my favorite notes so I particularly love this fragrance after it brings out the pink pepper, especially since you can smell it all the way deep into the dry down.

The dry down adds a very welcomed sandalwood to the blend which makes the fragrance surprisingly warm and inviting for something labeled a "sport" flanker. This can be easily worn for an outdoors summer date because of it's sensual dry down.

And that's all there is to it. Nothing terribly complex, just a very well done fresh fragrance which starts with citruses and iris, and dries down into something warm and spicy with the pink pepper and sandalwood.

No headache inducing aromachemicals, no ambroxan, and no bubblegum. In the oversaturated market of designer freshies, wearing DHS is as refreshing as drinking a glass of cold water on a hot summer day.

shalimaraddict

At first I was hesitant about this as it is the third formulation for Dior Homme Sport. I love the original and the 2012 versions. This one has really grown on me. It is very fresh and wearable, and long lasting. I find I've gone through my bottle very quickly. That is a good sign as I have many fragrances. I like the contrast between citrus notes and the woody base with sandalwood and vetiver.

Koup1472

I had to add to my previous review after purchasing Creed original vetiver and wearing that for a few days to bed and wanting to switch it up coming back to Dior homme sport, and honestly it confirmed my suspicion, the performance on the Creed is trash compared to this, I have a 200ml and use a small sample size to take with me and I just sprayed 3/4 sprays from it and this Frangrance is kicking I can smell it on myself strong for hour's I may return that creed and get half a dozen designer Frangrances I have wanted.

MKSRB

Very natural & smooth smelling citrus (blood orange most notable) alongside spicy pink pepper & nutmeg with that touch of Dior sophisticated powdery smell in the background (I still detect it - even though it's toned down to a minimum). In the drydown it's mostly sandalwood with little bit of vetiver which gives it somewhat of a creamy & woody roundness.

Chic & understated come to my mind when smelling this. Kinda in-between Dior Homme Cologne & Dior Homme Eau. You will smell sexy, fresh & clean without being loud or screaming for attention.

It's not a groundbreaking fragrance but it is very well blended - hence it will not burn your nose or have that chemical smell which allot other fresh/blue fragrances have tendency to do.

Good longevity, you will have olfactory fatigue with this one. However, even if you overspray it will not offend anyone.

I'll finish with this being my most complimented scent here in Australia for the last 2 years. Carolina Herrera Chic & Bond No.9 Scent Of Peace For Him being 2nd & 3rd respectively.

Thank you for taking time reading this. Have a great day.

mixter99

Purchased the 2020 version recently as it smelled great off the strip, has a really tangy and sharp blood orange with that signature "Dior" DNA on at its backbone. The problem for me is that it smells too chemical and it irritates me. I had to sell this one as for the price it really is nothing special.

This is definitely not a bad fragrance, it is good. However, from the really high price point you can get a much more interesting citrusy fragrance. I think this one is pretty boring and Dior Homme Cologne is much better - it does not have that harsh chemical backbone as much. Like others are saying no wow factor in this one, DHC actually makes you feel juicy and fresh when this just makes you feel meh.

Longevity 8 hours, projection 4 hours. Wont blow anyone's socks off but is a safe bet all rounder.

For me 5/10, try Dior Homme Cologne before you buy this

bakkalci

I recieved 125ml of this scent today and I falled in love with that reminds me something I used before but it is totally unique. Citrusy love . Best for Summer but for spring , I have another perfume to use. This will be my 2020 summer's top 1 fragrance. Ooooh that smell of blood orange and other notes but at the top it has blood orange.

gbone

fantastic stuff ...fresh spicy well made and smells amazing. very versatile it has enough edge to be more than a sporty gym scent

not everything has to be a complex masterpiece thats pretentious to be a superb fragrance

i always think of this as the peppery dry concentrated relation to the creamy but airy allure homme sport

10/10 for me i absolutely love it

FClub7

Great "dumb reach" scent for warmer weather. It's not a masterpiece but it doesn't need to be. Also, would anyone on here have the formula number for this, mine doesn't have one.

felipebizarria.1

A real nice blend! Citrus, nutmeg and synthetics. You can't go wrong with this one.

Koup1472

Dior homme sport batch 7X0T/ Same batch as my Dior Homme Cologne as well seems to be a particularly good batch. Starts out with lemon and blood orange and drys down to a nice Sandalwood, might be boring to some people but I enjoy it as a quick reach that’s easy to wear and you can definitely tell it has that Dior quality.

raj.kanaj

The citrus opening combo of blood orange/grapefruit and lemon is nice but a bit too much citrus to start with.
This lasts about an hour, but the time the sandalwood creeps in itself the citruses die down its a much better & tolerable fragrance.
Whilst it's a high quality blend, it would it understandably gets lost with the abundance of citrus fragrances. Works good in high heat but not exceptional.

Can't really comment on sport frags, but would prob recommend John varvatos artisan pure, Versace pour home, Terre d hermes, or Amara over this. 6.5/10

Coffee King

I almost ordered this today, but glad I retested it first, fresh and fruity, with a definite sport vibe. I opted for the intense instead.

It is nice, and that's about all I can say really, it lacks the punch of the others, that punch always seems to come from the iris note, and there is no single trace here.

I can understand why people aren't too impressed, it doesn't make any impact, it is nice, but I can't be convinced that there's a wow factor here, there isn't.

Liberális Artúr

When I tested it on a paper strip, I had the impression of a nice but typical scent with a citrusy - soapy - flowery - citrusy trip.

After wearing it for a few days, I can only get the citrus part on me/on shirt and nothing from the rest, so it does not really work on me. The good thing is that despite being EDT, I can still smell it after I'm home from work.

tabularasaus

So incredibly forgettable. This one gets lost in the murky waters of fresh summer fragrances.

sprashanth1982

I managed to get a sample of the 2017 Dior Homme Sport & tested it for a few days in the tropical hot climate here where the outdoor temperature is around 33 degC and very sweaty & here is my impression:

The opening is simply amazing - I smell high quality citrus notes like lemon, grapefruit and blood orange that is really superb & it lasts for upto 45 mins. Afterwards, the citrus notes die down, revealing a creamy sandalwood/nutmeg/vetiver base & it still smells very nice.

The big disappointment, however is that it becomes a skin scent after 1.5 hours of application & completely disappears from the skin after the 3rd hour... It is really sad that this cologne does not perform well in tropical heat and sweat :-(

Perhaps I need to try it out again during the tropical winter or spring season where the outdoor temperature is in the mid-20s degC & it is dry and pleasant.

My verdict as of now:

Smell: 9/10
Projection: 5/10
Longevity: 3/10

cbeau

Many citrus fragrances start with a realistic burst of freshness, but then sadly dry down with a harsh household-cleaner-like citrus note. In this fragrance, Dior has successfully created a realistic citrus that remains pleasing in the dry down. This scent is very clean, office appropriate but not formal, barely sporty, but that's what makes it so great. This is the perfect go-to daytime spring summer fragrance. Longevity is surprisingly good for a fresh fragrance and sillage is average. DH Cologne is similarly good at producing a realistic fresh scent, but DH Sport has a much more interesting dry down and much better performance.

Martin__

I've heard from a sales rep this along with Dior Homme Parfum is being discontinued. There will be a replacement, a successor for the Dior Homme Sport 2017 though.

I'm confused to say the least. Third successor and fourth Dior homme Sport released within 11 years..

baliszonyi

This might be one of the most natural smelling sport fragrances. It has a very distinctive blood orange+grapefruit head note in the beginning. I feel that the latter is more emphasised which is no bad thing as I adore grapefruit in fragrances. The middle note of pink pepper is very uplifting for me and the whole thing settles to be a sandalwood dominated scent after 3 hours. Longevity is very impressive for this kind of a scent and also projection is better than what you would expect. It is no heavy hitter by any means, just an extremely pleasant one. For me it screams high quality and this is the easiest to wear from my current collection (BdC EdT, ADG Profumo, DHI). If you expect something ground breaking then it is not what you're after. But if you want to smell clean and easy (slight citrus + sandalwood) then there might be no better choice. Previously I had Allure Homme Sport for this "category" and while that one might be more complicated this is far better in its simplicity.

9/10 from me all things considered and you could wear this in the spring and early autumn too.

RodgyV

Great sport fragrance..period. Very good and safe office frag in summer, smells different enough from the mass sporty frags that you will standout and get compliments. As a side note I don't understand the " what does this remind you of" section people put the very obvious ones like Dior homme sport reminds me of Dior homme sport cool spray??? Duhhh, no shit? They are suppose to smell similar as they are the same fragrance fragrance??

D.B Cooper

The Best TRUE Sport Fragrance on the Market!

This fragrance is exactly what it is, a SPORT fragrance. Yes, there is alot of hate on sport fragrances in the community (believe me, im guilty too)! Anyways this is a crowd pleaser, but it's different enough for me to enjoy it. One of the best freshies that Dior has come out with, I've gotten more compliments on this then Sauvage EDT/EDP in comparison. It also has great projection and longevity for a freshie as well. Yes alas there is none of the iris in this but I think it suits the fragrance better as it is a true "sport" fragrance! When I wear this fragrance I picture a clean cut young man playing a round of golf with a nice collard shirt on. A underrated and solid release from Dior.

A 8/10 for me!

Martin__

Blood orange juice and pulp mixed together spiced up by some pepper and nutmeg and rounded by a woody finish. As simple as that.

I like it for being unique as it is - there are not so many frangrances out there with blood orange.

The DNA of the originator is not here (lack of ginger) but the concept, idea and spirit remained the same.

Longevity 7 to 9 hours, sillage is medium. Best for spring and summer - also in hot humid days - gives me a burst of freshness and gives a cooling effect on the skin but not as much as Dior Homme Cologne 2013 does.

Being quite honest I wasn't sure this is that good but finally it "clicked" with me - especially when temperature outside is above 90 Fahrenheit. This is cute and garners a whole bunch of compliments.

I like to rotate it with Dior Homme Cologne 2013 and Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne.

senura

For me, this smells like 80% similar to the Perry ellis 360 Red (But with a depth; 360 Red has no depth). And I have to agree that this fragrance has a good quality citrus note.

Eyedean

This! Go try it... now! Blood Orange opening and pink pepper... then sandlewood and vetiver... Thats What i get. Even though Iris isn’t a note in this one anymore, you absolutely can recognize the Dior Homme DNA in the background. Also... Dior just makes the best sprayers ever.
Go try this one now, perfect for spring and summer.

Cioraniada

Dior is quite possibly, the best when it comes to simplicity. Minimalistic, but at the same time, sophisticated freshie. I ran out of my DHS 2012 and i thought this will be a total mess. Boy was I wrong.

Feels quite nice and unique to be a natural, fruity, peppery sandalwood in a world full of synthetic abroxan and aggressive oud.

arul-as

A fresh, citrussy scent which will suit best in summer or spring. A good office fragrance too.

That said, personally I think there is no special factor in this scent. It smells clean and pleasant and the drydown with the sandalwood is nice on the clothes.

It feels like Dior wanted their own version of Chanel Allure Homme Sport.

mare_crisium

I bought the Very Cool Spray last year and was in love with the ginger/citrus combination. I've been toying with getting this too with the hope of increased longevity. Is it worth having both?

It’s like ordering your favorite pepperoni pizza from the same Italian restaurant for years. They might have changed the tomato sauce recipe over the years, but the pepperoni is still there, so on the menu it still says “pepperoni pizza”.
You come back the next week and you look at the menu and you still see the “pepperoni pizza” and you ordered it.
But when the pizza is served on your table, there is no pepperoni on your pepperoni pizza.
Where is the pepperoni on my pepperoni pizza?!?!?!

Where is the “Ginger” in your DH Sport?!?!?!
What the hell is wrong Dior?!?!?!
Why Dior?!?! Why oh why?!?!
Now it’s just another citrusy sport fragrance.
Now it’s just another cheese pizza.
I don’t really care about the Iris... but the ginger!
Who’s the genius behind this decision of removing the ginger note?
That ginger was the note is the glue that held all the notes together and in harmony.
This is blasphemy!!!
I agree 2017 DHS smells good, but now it’s just another citrusy Sport Cologne and the market is already flooded with it.

This is not a bad fragrance and deserve more than this.

Many people compare it to the older formulation
that may be better than this depend on individual opinion
for me the older is better too but the iris is not for sport IMO

This is one of the best sport fragrance
If you skip this because of others told that the older is better
You will miss the good one.

Smellwise

I love iris very much that i have prada lhomme, lhomme intense, prada amber pour homme, zegna flourintine iris etc2.. however i do like this dior homme sport without the iris.. somehow i dislike iris in dior homme line.. but dats just my taste.. i felt like iris in dior homme line of fragrances smell dated.. and probably not suited for my country hot and humid weather.. getting back to dior homme sport 2017, its a clean, simple and yet sophisticated scent.. smells modern to me.. i like it a lot.. performance is moderate with good projection for 1 hour and longevity up to 6 hours.. save blind buy if you like simple sophisticated modern scent. Those who wants ground breaking challenging scent can look elsewhere..

swax1990

My brother unwrapped this one as Christmas present from her gf. He likes it though. I had to check it out for myself, personally to me it doesn't smell sporty at all. Tbh there's no freshness, on the contrary i was getting too much sweetness. Overall, it had a strange vibe of cherry jam on me which I do think comes off from blood oranges amalgamated with pear + pink pepper + nutmeg. It's just not for me...

NathanBradleyF

@trmjkd989 - You're right. I was talking about 2012. I never had the very first formulation.

NathanBradleyF

Why did they mess with the best sport fragrance EVER?! This doesn't smell bad by any means....it actually smells very good. BUT the original was perfection! We finally had a great sport fragrance with great performance and character. This version doesn't perform like the old one. I also miss the iris note. However 2017 smells great and I will continue to buy it. Maybe they could make an extreme version.

OhDeParfarm

Addictive, fresh zesty blood orange.

What is not to like?

I am quite generous with the sprayer. Use it post-gym. Uplifting and performs well.

I ♥️ it Lovley 4 Spring Summer Time

Concetto

Consigliatissimo. Dopo 6 ore riesce ancora a riconoscersi perfettamente. Vale tutti i soldi spesi anche perchè un solo spruzzo basta. Contento :-)

SergioMX84

My signature fragrance for spring and fall. Do not be fooled by the word Sport on the bottle, this is not for use in the gym, this perfume has an elegant and sophisticated vibe, high quality with natural smelling notes. This fragrance opens with a fresh citrus scent but after a few minutes the sandalwood and pink pepper make their presence and those are the notes that last the most during the day. It is a buttery, fresh, peppery smell, you can use it on hot days but I recommend it more for use in the morning or on rainy days that do not exceed 25 C°. The presentation is perfect, the bottle is beautiful with thick glass and the best atomizer you can find.

Presentation: 10/10
Scent: 9/10 (I wish the opening smell last longer)

With 2 sprays...
Longevity: 8 - 10 hours
Sillage: 4 - 5 hours

mauriciolacruz

I tried it at the airport time ago and, for me, the 2017 flanker is very similar to the 2012 one which I own (and love!). I haven't had the possibility to try both side by side though.

Forever Neil

Sandalwood, sandalwood, sandalwood. There isn't much to say. I like it. It's sporty for a few minutes, but overall this is for sandalwood lovers. I would recommend this fragrance more for spring, and not for summer. Perfect for a bright spring day.

I’m sick to death of these Dior reviews saying this year is better than that year. Just tell me if it smells good and what notes are in it.

12345

Worn for a few days. Not sure if it's my nose or my skin, but the pink pepper really carries the dry down and tapers off to the sandalwood/vetiver. This is a great fresh scent with some character. Great daily driver for the summer.

I like.

Fendy1

Tested - you can smell a nice orange/lemon citrus-like note surrounded by some minor notes that add a manly depth. This is a light and well-refined fragrance, that is highly appealing, but quite expensive. For me it is not worth the price, however the quality and lasting power are there - not to be underestimated. A great and highly practical fragrance in my opinion.

Michael Fresh

Really love this stuff guys. Very simple, clean, and natural. The blood orange is amazing, and gives it a little more unique vibe then most freshies. The pink pepper is so bright, and uplifting. Great longevity too. Might be my favorite summer fragrance.

Philosophy.and.Fragrance

Update:
Performance is good on my skin, vetiver note is a little bold but blood orange note is natural but I personaly love intense blood orange note. It is not very citrusy because loud vetiver note. It's not a unique scent but it's good. My favorite in this line is cologne 2013.

silversalo90

Certainly one of the best ! :) Citruses blended with spices and sandalwood in the best way. Gives awesome freshness with adequate amount of sweetness. Also love the creamy vibe. I don't know how iris smells in 2012 version but it's hard to imagine a better sports and summer perfume than Allure Homme Sport and DHS 2017.;)

chairat.luck.pluem

One of the best summer fragrances period! it is very fresh, smelling good, versatile...you'll get compliments wearing this one Creamy orange floral for daytime use for Spring and summer..I'm a sportman, the kind of guy who is either walking, jogging, going to the gym or coming back from the gym. If you want a "sport" scent, this is the only one you need. It's so fresh, but masculine fresh, citrus, woods, peppery!!

periquito89

Simple, smooth, more to the elegant side (or pretends to) than sport, but everybody already knows that. It's ok.The fact is that I own Sport 2008 and I think is way better than this 2017 version, and also better than the 2012 version. Of course, who had trouble with the lemony aspect of the original one, may prefer the last two. The 2008 is a more vivid scent, more personality I think. My choice among those, by them, references on sport chic: Allure Homme Sport and Versace Homme. Like yesterday, today again I´m using both on each wrist (2008 and 2017 versions). Well, time has passed.

Let me start by saying that the definition of a sport fragrance for me has always been Polo Sport by Ralph Lauren.

Now I had a little sample vial of the 2008 version of Dior Homme Sport and I remember being in love, but that was a while ago.

The 2012 version left me indifferent because it didn't feel invigorating which is essential for a sport fragrance in my opinion. It's really funny to see people are disappointed with this 2017 version and are praising the 2012. A reviewer below even said that the iris note is the characteristic note of Dior Homme Sport. Well, the first edition didn't have it, and it's the holy grail for its ginger note. The 2017 version is closer to the 2008...

Now, for the 2017 version. This is closer to the 2008 in terms of character, but with less intensity overall and the absence of that wonderful ginger that made the original so invigorating. That same role here has been assigned to the pink pepper.

This version is wonderful. Bright citrus opening, sweet and tart, embraced by the spiciness of pink pepper, only to evolve into a lush airy Vétiver and creamy sandalwood. Dior Homme Sport is doing what is intended, which is invigorate you and embrace you in sports, but is only achieving to so much more. It’s refined, elegant and alluring, perfect scent for casual and formal daytime events. Versatile, easy and of quality.

Lasts all day on clothing (and probably on skin) and projects well for the first 2 hours. At last, a new release without a shameful performance.

I want to get my hands on the 2008 version again though, as that ginger note was hauntingly beautiful. Also I would like to compare it with this version but from what I recall they are very similar in spirit.

Overall, this is a beautiful and elegant summer and spring scent, and it can even work for an evening setting. I am seriously considering buying this and the very cool spray bottle (for the gym and beach) as I’m tired of tracking down Cosmair bottles for Polo sport.

PS: If anyone wants to provide a sample of the 2008 version I’ll be grateful.

I own the 2012 version and have a sample of this new one. I collect all the Dior Hommes, so i was expecting to buy this one, but after sampling it's a big no from me. It is like the 2012, but it has less smoothness, more Invictus and Allure Homme Sport dna, more synthetics, way less longevity (to my nose). It still isn't a sport fragrance imo, it's more of a Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDT competitor. Except that Grey Vetiver EDT is far superior to this. This is lacking the beauty and depth of the 2012. If you absolutely need a Dior Homme to wear to the gym, just wear Dior Homme Cologne. Or wear Givenchy Casual Chic, which apparently smells a lot like the pre-2012 Dior Homme Sport. I feel like a lot of these positive reviews are coming from people who have either never smelled the 2012 or people who didn't like the 2012 just because it wasn't good for the gym. "Sport" doesn't always mean "gym"... Sport 2012 is for sporty guys in the office, Sport 2017 is for no one

Naoto

Tested it on my wrists at the duty free shop in Heathrow airport. Personally I thought it wasn't as bad as it is said - fresh orange opening, then it became slight powdery and woody scent later. The performance is average but I think that's intentional as Sports EDT. Great for spring/summer or after taking a shower/bath.

mj6

Finally i have decided to give a detailed review (my personal opinion):
I have never been an iris fan as i never bought a full bottle of any Dior Homme iris based flankers. Past summer i was looking for something versatile for both casual outing and gym and i tested this against (one by one) 4 perfumes on my arms (versace pour homme, YSL Y, Lacoste blanc, montblanc Legend spirit). I found Dior Homme sport 2017 scent not only better (both indoor and outdoor) but also it stayed longer especially against versace pour homme.
It has that soft cooling grapefruit or blood orange smell. And if we talk about generic smell then yup it even smells similar to Palmolive Grapefruit dishwasher soap and even in reviews about that soap people think of it as for aromatherapy. Isn't Mugler cologne smells like Irish Spring or some other fresh soaps but still it has 4.3 rating on this website? Similar is the case with most fresh colognes.
It will be one of my go to scent in upcoming summer. And i am going to wear it for office too. Sample it, try it and only then go for a full bottle if you think it is worth spending. And I am sorry to all iris lovers.

smiauu

drydown of this kinda reminds me of valentino uomo`s drydown.

Manny44

I love 2012 DHS. I don't think I ever smelled the 2008 but this one ( 2017) is what I always imagined it smelled like. It's a bit of bore to me ( the iris and ginger in the 2012 DHS gave it drama ). Just my opinion of off two wearings of 2017 after 4 years of 2012 wearings, for what that's worth. @yarks....yeah, frag heads can be some of the touchiest, most overly-dramatic people on Earth. I wonder if our smell centers in our brain are too close to our emotional areas.

andrew.z

An example of how you can spoil a beautiful composition from 2012. As if to change the well-tailored suit to the sporting nice tracksuit. The lack of iris and ginger makes it a pleasant medium for the summer, banal and nothing more. I will reserve 2012, and with dubious reformulation 2017 will calm myself. Shame.

CMTHUNDERS

to me it smells like a slightly more citrusy version of givenchy play intense. Its soo good

Erikkkk

Get longer in my skin, nice scent but generic, hints of bleu de chanel in my nose. Miss you Ires. Sad sad world

C@nn@r

This is a very well done citrus. If you are looking for a very sporty, fresh, almost invigorating scent then check this out. I do get similarities to the previous CD sport flankers. Although it lacks iris note I still feel it belongs to the family. If this had iris then it would be very similar to previous compositions. I get a lot of bright authentic fresh citrus up top. Following the opening, spices and florals become apparent. Lastly, the base is a nice clean sandalwood/vetiver combo with plenty of nutmeg. I smelled this alongside Coach for men and I get some similarities even though I would not believe that to be true. For me, however, I would still take the Dior Homme Cologne version over this.

rmiller314mvp

One of the best summer fragrances period! Blood orange note is very prominent. Very pleasant smell, and different from the 2012 version. Love it!

CMTHUNDERS

I saw it advertised in a magazine and rubbed it on my neck and thought it smelled SOO good, so I ordered a 5ml sample and just got it in the mail. I tried it on my elbow and it still smells very good to me, but is much warmer/sweeter than I remember. I like it but I'm more of a aquatic fresh kind of guy. I'm brand new to this cologne thing and I don't know how to pickup these scents that are shown in the notes chart up above. The only ones that make sense to me are the aquatic notes only because it seems obvious to me

muotarek

Uplifting scent, it is very fresh and smelling good, versatile, you'll get compliments wearing this one, i didn't try 2012 version but i got a sample from this one and it is really really good one, it is not a beast mode when it comes to silage but it is okay, some scents are meant to be like that because if it is too loud you might not like it.

Blood orange and Sandalwood are a perfect mix here, smells so citrusy, creamy.

UPDATE: Very nice scent yet after one hour you'll not be able to follow its traces so for its price not worth it at all.

Rorshach1004

I'm a sporty guy, the kind of guy who is either walking, jogging, going to the gym, or coming back from the gym. My companion, all summer long, has been Dior Homme Sport 2017. If you want a 'sport' scent, this is the only one you need. Why is it so good? I haven't got a clue, it just is. I guess it's all in the wearing, living with it, wearing the scent, getting little love kiss reminders all day long. It's so fresh, but masculine fresh, citrus, woods, peppery, not soft, it almost bites, it's sharp, so good, and it lasts and lasts and lasts. I got a 50ml bottle for my birthday. Thanks Mum. I wasn't expecting to fall in love with it, but I did, and I ate it up, got addicted, worried because my bottle was getting low. No way could I exist without it. This is my workout partner. I have to have it in my life. Yesterday I purchased a new bottle. 125ml this time. Price? I don't care. I'm looking at it now. Beautiful. The larger bottle screams class, slim, refined, so elegant. Don't believe the negative comments here. Live with DHS 2017 as I did, and if you, like me, are a gym guy, this little gem will be your go-to gym buddy friend, forever.

foreignshores

I have both the 2012 and 2017 versions. On paper, I prefer 2012. The lemon is crisp and thr ginger/iris accord is heavenly. The 2017 version still has a distinct citrus opening, but it feels more bergamot/mandarin than lemon. The drydown is a woody nutmeg, no ginger to be found. The differences become more pronounced on my skin. The 2012 goes sour immediately. (I have the same problem with Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne.) The 2017 presents no such problem on my skin. Its wonderful from opening to drydown, and overall just works better for my chemistry.

Perfume art 0518

Great scent . Lots of compliments ! Creamy orange floral for daytime use for fall and summer.

pjd1234

Got this as a sample and i have been using it for a week now. All i can say is it's not bad and it's not good either. I don't understand the voting for long lasting?? It does not last max 6 hours turns skin scent after 1 hour (and thats a very generous score, but really performance ain't that good) I still have my bottle of the 2012 release, although performance is bad on that one it has character and brings something new on the table.

This 2017 release does not bring anything new, but a sense of generic feel and lack of character imo. 2008 version is still the best if you can find that one get it. Overall an okay release adds nothing new, it's your typical summer frag like a ton of release out there.

barobert

You ever had your heart destroyed by someone you love. Then you feel like you have become empty inside. That is what happened to the Dior Homme Sport 2017. This fragrance has no heart, backbone, or soul.

This scent is the definition of a sport fragrance. It smells like fancy soap. The 2012 had more of a classy feel due to the ginger but that has been either toned down immensely or just flat out removed. The 2017 is more versatile and better for hot weather. This is a good gym scent that cannot be disliked by anyone but will be loved by no one. While I see this being good for the gym is it better than Nautica Voyage ($15) for that situation? Simply no!

This will last you anywhere between 5-7 hours. This is a sports fragrance with good longevity. Whoopee!!! The performance creates a small bubble around you. It isn't an offensive fragrance so it can be a signature scent.

I'm going to keep this short. Buy the 2012 version or don't buy this line at all. This fragrance is boring and expensive. I honestly feel bad for the people who blind bought this. It's an okay sports fragrance. Nautica Voyage is a better fragrance and its $15. The 2012 version is a classy formal fragrance which actually smells great due to the ginger. Yes it smells more unisex and sweet but it was unique or at the very least stood out. Much better fragrances can be bought for $90 USD

Presentation - 8/10 Dior Homme line bottles look great
Scent - 6/10 It's clearly missing something
Longevity - 6/10 In gym great everything else meh
Versatility - 10/10 Wear everywhere super inoffensive
Performance - 7/10 Decent scent bubble perfect for work
Silage - 5/10 Your not turn any heads
Value - 3/10 Nautica Voyage for the 3rd time is $15

a7_mad1991

Nah, nothing new here.
2012 version was better suited for me.

Fugal

If you want something nearly as versatile as Sauvage but with a more natural smell, then this will work. Although geared towards warmer weather, it can be worn year-round inside. It will last through the day, but won't be in the way if you want to wear something else in the evening. It's good for most people in most situations and would make an excellent gift.

Even though this is slightly more refined than most designer scents (as most Diors are), it just doesn't really stand out. It might perform a little better than certain Chanel fragrances that meet the same requirements, but there are better scents from Versace, Armani, Bvlgari, YSL, Prada, and others. This isn't a bad release and won't smell bad to almost anyone, but for most people there is a better signature/work scent out there.

Guinea54

Well... I am not really sure what people are talking about when they say its all fruits/citrus and no ginger. My favorite is the 2008 so I was expecting this to be terrible, but to my surprise its pretty decent. Maybe not as good as the 2008 but its in the same ball park. This is fresh with fruits and citrus on the opening but a little more rich than a lemon type citrus scent. As it dries down I get that reminiscent dior sport DNA... that warm sweet ginger note. The ginger note in this isn't as strong as the 2008, but I smell it. I don't care what the note break down is, I go by my sense of smell.. that 2008 warm/sweet ginger overtone is certainly in this.. I am not sure about the performance yet, but it seems at least average, possibly better.

2008- More lemon zing and ginger- best performance
2012- less ginger, iris introduced- Performance sucked on me
2017- lemon zing reduced a little, blood orange note increased and ginger reduced from the 2008.. performance seems better than 2012 not sure tho

ThatMakesScents

A red smelling sporty citrus scent heavy on the fruits. I'd say much richer than other fragrances in this category. It's light none the less.

Been wearing it on my hairy arms for over 3 hrs. It is noticeably there when I put my nose to my arm. The paco rabanne prive on my other arm however is overpowering it so I am not getting the full scope of things.

I would assume it would fair pretty well on a cotton shirt during the summer. Too light to be covered up with a jacket or sweater. A light breeze I think would carry this at least and arm's length which is sufficient for many people.

Not mature but older men wouldn't be wrong in wearing it. Better suited for the 20 - 35 year old crowd...just my opinion.

Dior does mainstream "average joe" very well.

Update :

Lasts 5/6 hrs on skin then totally disappears.

urobian

Hard work for a perfumer to connect the escence of the previous work to a new step in a new kind of smell but in the similar vibe. To me this is a great work, the luminous vibrant touch in citrus in the 2008 version is here, the powdery & dusty floral undertunes are here, the last base with the soft spiciness is kindless and manly like the others versions. We tend to compare things and more in art and perfumery, Dior always has karmas that make hard to write new history in their releases with all the massive ways to bring a new product to sale with great or low future.. yeah, this is controversial in some kind to think what is great or not with two previous big hits.. Dior like to make noise.

-----------------------------

I love Dior Homme sport 2012 so much. When i was noticed that Dior released 2017 version of Homme sport, I immediately bought a decant for testing...
But it wasn't satisfied me at all. Why? Say it right now!

In Dior 2012 a good balance is seen between citrus and spicy notes. You enjoy these two notes next to each other.
But in 2017 version, Dior changed the structure of 2012 version.
2017 is a fully citrus perfume. it is suitable for public wearing, not for those who want to have a specific perfume. You can find this kind of scent in very inexpensive and cheap perfumes. If an anonymous brand launched this kind of perfume, I didn't surprised, but I was surprised when this famous brand launched it...

I think that Dior produced this perfume only for more and more profit and didn't respect its costumers in this product.

henriques

I went to a story that has the two versions (2012 and 2017).
Sprayed both, one on each arm.

In the beggining I could say that a like more the 2017, the orange was very welcome and blended very well with the DHS dna.
But, after above an hour, the 2017 was very weak and just not fun. It was a nice smell, but I had to admite the this fragrance lose its personality. Where is the ginger?? And I noticed that what makes DHS this great fragrance is the ginger!
The 2012 I could feel the exotic iris (that I like) and a little bit ginger yet. In my opinion, the iris could be a little weaker and the ginger more strong, like in 2008 version. That one would be the best version.

Now I really don't know what to do, I like more the ginger of 2008, a little bit of the iris of 2012, and the welcome orange in 2017.

urobian

Need to try it so soon! reviews on Youtube put this Dior in a higher place with some great ideas about it, meanwhile here the worst fragance, i dont know why dont believe sometimes the direction in reviews here...

richmilton

I agree with the reviewer below me. This is so weak it should be an embarrassment to the Dior house. Their Dior Homme Intense is excellent. Dior Homme original even better. Dior Homme Parfum the absolute hands down best... most masculine and most awesome IMO. However, this Dior Homme Sport is like spraying a watered down version of some cheap $10 Adidas cologne. The scent is weak, boring and nothing more than another run-of-the-mill "sport" fragrance, Hence, my Adidas reference. Seriously, this has nothing in common with the Dior Homme line other than the bottle. From the review I've read here I guess the older formulations of this was way better. But I don't know for sure because I have the newest version... and I rate it a 3/10... and that's being generous!. Dior should be ashamed to release this $10 Adidas cologne in a Dior bottle.

shalimaraddict

Dior is slowly eroding their scents by watering them down. This is the worst version of Dior Homme Sport out of the three. It is non descript, and has literally nothing in common with the others. Why not just make a new scent with this generic pedestrian formula, instead of ruining the Dior Homme line.

Dr. M. Fadhil

I liked all the dior homme line subgroups, but this one is totally different and I disagree with any one encourage using it

Raidthesaladbar

Early afternoon in a conference room on the top floor of 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. A giant, amorphous black blob, Dior's head of marketing, is doing focus testing. The new marketing intern, still in his human form, is sitting next to him with a pencil and clipboard. On the opposite side of the table sits a young guy who only goes by "Dude", chosen from thousands of applicants to represent the average target customer. Right now, he's sniffing a blotter labeled "DHS 2012".

"Bruh, what's that powdery shit in the background? It smells, like, totally like my sister's makeup bag. It makes me feel insecure about my masculinity."

Marketing Intern, tongue between his teeth, is scribbling eagerly.

"Can't have that shit in my cologne, bruh. I need to smell manly when I go to the club to pick up chicks, or when I even li..." He gets distracted by a fly crawling from his flip-flops up his sweatpants.

Marketing Blob clears one of his throaty orifices to regain his attention. "How would you improve it?"

"It needs to be fresher... like Bleu de Chanel. If it's not fresh, it's an old-man scent."

"So you're insecure about your youth too?"

"Yeah, bruh. And I need constant validation, like compliments. Especially from chicks. And Fragranceyokel on Youtube said that BdC is 100% proven to be the best panty-dropper ever."

Marketing Intern turns over another page on his clipboard.

Later that day, in the dark dungeon far below street level. An elderly, bespectacled man is huddled over blotters and vials, his left leg chained to the wall. The door opens, and Marketing Blob slithers in.

"François, I have the latest test results for the new Dior Homme Sport. We're gonna take out the iris completely."

The man adjusts his glasses, bemused. "But that's what made the fragrance unique and interesting! If we remove the iris, it has literally nothing to do with Dior Homme anymore - it's gonna be yet another generic sports fragrance!"

The blob gurgles menacingly. "Do you like having a job, François?"

The man named François sighs. "Fine. What do we do about the drydown? Without the iris, it's just gonna smell like synthetic woody crap."

"We tell people it's sandalwood. They have no clue what actual sandalwood smells like anyway."

Marketing Blob is about to leave, but he briefly turns around again. "Oh, before I forget." One of his many orifices bubbles open, spitting out a slightly soggy bottle of Dawn dishsoap. François picks it up with two fingers, a consternated look on his face. "What's that?"

"We're reformulating Fahrenheit again. According to the latest marketing data, this is what we're going for - get cracking."

huge dior fan but this one is a huge miss. why would they take out the beautiful and classy signature note of iris i will never know. the mix of citrus and spiciness of ginger mixed with powdery floral iris was sublime. the new version is just a bland citrus been there done that fragrance. i would stock up on the old version before its gone. dior you let me down with this one. the vintage was a classy summer scent something i actually use to wear with a suit. the new one is strictly in your gym bag fragrance. sad.

brendahhm

Grapefruit. sexy sporty with a bit of woods in the background. Cannot go wrong with this for spring/summer. Great for the gym! I do like the 2012 more because it is a bit more elegant and unique due to the iris but performance is way better on this one!

I don't understand why something like this is called Dior Homme Sport. "Sport": ok. But "Dior Homme": no. I really don't see anything of the original's DNA.

I'll try to avoid being derogatory. It's only recently that I've been trying to analize scents. And any flanker with the word "sport" had roughly any chance of pleasing me. I will not say it's bad. It's just not my taste. It does not fit my style. But I do understand the broad appeal.

With this one I have the same feeling as I do with Égoïste Platinum: take a very innovative and unique perfume, change it completely and throw in ingredients to make it look macho and generic in the best possible way. My resolution lasted for about four sentences and here I am criticizing already... I'm sorry I find this perfume so boring and ordinary.

I mean, fans of Dior Homme might even blind buy it and be very disappointed. What's the point?

strut

OMG what have they done...
The opening is so simple and generic its almost off-putting, after couple of minutes some complexity starts to reveal and till the end of the middle notes the scent is nice freshy and has resemblance to the older version.
The drydown... sauvage and friends.. and dior sport just jumped on the same wagon.
Just by the sillage if some one would pass by me with this scent i could not tell, by any means, what "suavage" type of fragrance it is.. .
Where is the beautiful iris? Where is the playful ginger? WHY?

Center

This is nice. Just nice.

It's citrusy, clean, and creamy -- everything you'd want in an easy to wear cologne, particularly for those who are averse to sharp summer scents.

I'm glad to own a bottle when I need something quality, well-blended, and simple -- but I'd be hard-pressed to convince someone this is anything more than that.

Okay, well, this is probably the dissapointment of the year
And not because its a shitty version of the earlier fragrance, but because it is not different enough. Oh, I expected so much of it. I wanted it to be a sophisticated Light Blue (Dark blue?), but I got a slightly more wearable 2012 DHS.
Way too cloying for the summer. It could pass for early spring or fall. I will sure give it a chance then, but for now, it just saddens me how much of a letdown this is...

Wooster97

Love this fragrance!!they have relaunched this in the department store I work in,I can't stop wearing this scent!the blood orange and the nutmeg are very noticeable !lovely citrus aroma!i love in the uk and we are coming into the summer so this is the perfect time to wear it!lasts very long in my skin!the pear is a reminder of jo malone perfume pear and freesia, but obviously 100% more masculine

Nosebest

I am rather disappointed with Dior over the 2017 reformulation of DHS. They have effectively taken what was a very nicely balanced green citron fragrance that smelled VERY natural and refreshing and replaced it with a new release that seems to be just a hodge podge of aspects of other modern successful citrus/sport fragrances but without any real personality of its own, perhaps hoping to reach as broad a target market as possible. While admittedly pleasant in parts, to my nose it is inferior to the 2012 release, smelling like a combination of the fresh orange citrus notes of Clinique happy and maybe Allure Homme Sport mixed with some of the overly heavy, creamy and sweet vibe of Allure Sport Eau Extreme/Versace Eros/Ultra Male with a slight underlying mintiness. No ginger, no cedar, no iris. The blood orange citrus combo is very pleasant, but it seems to be quickly overshadowed by the heavier notes and I would imagine that this could become very cloying in high heat( in relatively moderate heat I found it far too sweet). The spicy notes also seem a little jarring or ill fitting, as if the fragrance was just pulling in too many different directions to be cohesive. With that said, it is not terrible by any means and I'm sure many will find it quite appealing, but it is not for me. Another one bites the dust eh! Au revoir 2012, it was nice knowing you.

AZ

This is a pleasant perfum but I prefer the 2012 version which is much spicier ad greener than this.
Not bad with similar Auto that is very familiar with Homme Sport version love the blood orange and cedre combo is good.

But still will miss 2012 version.

I think if it was named differently and not going to replace the older version people would love it more.

Guys, are you really implying that it's a worse fragrance? I actually find it pretty similiar, maybe because I didn't get much iris from the last version, but it certainly isn't the end of the world. Dior Homme lineup always was and will be the pinacle of elegant perfumes and don't let anyone talk you otherwise. The opening kinda reminds me of Issey Miyaki, but the drydown and heart... oh my those are pleasant.

martin8604

Now i'm definitely sure that some fragrance lines gets a lot of compliments just because of their names. Don't get me wrong - this is a nice perfume but nothing special. A plesant bittersweet citrus opening, followed by creamy heart and a little disappointing drydown, which reminds me of cheap body spray. But when you look the like/dislike section everybody "LOVE" this. Come on - Dior Homme line truly has a very good and original fragrances, but not this one. This is nothing better than Armani Code Colonia for example - a nice ordinary flanker, which is made just because the market nowadays requires constantly something new.

Sprayed in on paper a week ago and it smelt pretty decent. Like a mixture of 2013 Cologne and 2012 Sport. Stayed on the paper for quite some time too.

Went to Macy's today and sprayed heavily on my wrist. The opening is pleasant but it's been 5 hours since applying it and I really have to press it in my arm to get a scent. On paper it's fine, but on the skin it goes generic "cologney" real fast. It's a creamy citrus and that's about it; not creamy like Ultra Zest or a creamsicle, just sweet and citrusy. This is neither original nor exciting, but another money grab from Dior. This is less interesting than 2013 Cologne, 2012 Sport, and 2008 Sport. This is about as interesting as Jimmy Choo Man. Fans of that scent, Hugo Boss The Scent, Mont Blanc Legend (any of them), and Gucci Guilty will like this one. Those of you who want something interesting, daring, unique, or of high quality look elsewhere, you'll find none of it here or on 80% of the designer men's fragrances at Macy's today. I'd rather wear Poison Girl Eau De Toilette than this, and I have it on my other wrist. Sweet vanilla and sunscreen citrus, still more interesting and complex than this.

A citrus-sandalwood fragrance which has poor projection but very good longevity..

I applied 6 heavy sprays

0 - 2 hours - 3 inch projection. You are hit with a citrus and a bit too much sandalwood. It has that "thin" feel like 2012 version, and lacks depth.

2 hours - 8 hours -1 inch projection tops. This fragrance lacks projection but it is very strong on the skin, almost acidic. The sandalwood calms down and I am surprised to see the scent pyramid have Sandalwood only in the dry down, this is not the case, it is there from the start.

8 hours - 12 hours. Still quite strong on the skin but a skin scent

The 2017 bottle design is similar to Dior Cologne 2007.The stem has a similarity to Dior Sport 2008 stem.

2012 Version = Citrus & Iris. Why Iris?

2017 Version - Citrus & a tad too much Sandalwood - Why Sandalwood? Sandalwood is better for cooler times imho, not summer or sport. Only use it sparingly for the summer, alas, they put a little more than was needed and this unhinged the whole fragrance for me

2008 Version = Citrus & ginger - They compliment each other and it worked for Summer. Why fix a ship when it is not broken? Maybe Dior had to? Who knows? 2008 is miles better than the other two, it is in a different league altogether IMHO...

Not for me

Chris.snow

I was excited to try this one after hearing the note breakdown. I bought a decant and eagerly sprayed my arm. I enjoyed the strong citrus of the opening but once it dried down I found it generic in the extreme. It reminded me of one of the Polo (color) colognes. Very happy I didn't blind buy a full bottle. If this is Dior's idea of an improvement, I hate to see what they do with Eau Sauvage Parfum...

JF Dufour

I bought this fragrance two weeks ago. At first, i was not sure and excited, but now l love this version. Overall :
. top not = orange creamy
. dry down = woody
. longevity = 10 hours +
. sillage = smooth

It's an elegant scent.

I will wait the warm weather to wear Dior homme sport 2017.

Housebliss

I thought it would smell fresher than it actually does. It comes off as too heavy. It's been warm weather here lately, and it's just too cloying. Projection and longevity are great though.

I asked a couple of girls at work what they thought, and they liked it from a distance. When they smelled where I had sprayed, it was too much for both of them. Keep that in mind if you're going on a date, and plan on getting close later on.

I was disappointed, and I gave it away.

Alphonse

Dior fragrances have this special strong personality traits blending confidence with perseverance. " I have arrived and I am here". Once you spray this on, you feel like going for an adventure you always wanted to accomplish. It is really seductive and fulfilling for the soul to breathe this intoxicating aroma that projects very well causing others to feel your presence and prioritize it. To be rated 10/10, this fragrance is way better than the annoying ginger bomb 2012 or the linear 2008 version. Try it. and Thank me.

HurAcraft

Excellent! Unlike sauvage which is getting all the hype.

Citrusy fresh with some spice and sweetnes, very versatile. Despite being somewhat generic its good. Also makes it so its versatile... not only for sunmer. Doesn't have a synthetic vibe.

This should be getting attention... actially no just keep wearing and hyping the subpar dior sauvage.

Less men wearing this, more for me and also helps with remaining unique.

Could be signature scent.

how people can make a review and judge a fragrance with just a once or twice test at the counter, i will never understand..
first impression? ok.. a review?.. OMG

i remember how crazy people can get when sauvage was first released..
now most of people changed direction to love it.

it's a sickness

Lunchbox148

This one is a major step down from the 2012 release. A mass appealing sport fragrance with no character. A neutered Dior Homme Sport that everyone can agree on!

A huge pass for me.

@Bluu225
The 2008 version is by far the best. It is a masterpiece and definitely the best fresh fragrance i have smelled. And it has much better performance (8 hours) than 2012 and 2017.
I really don't understand why they discontinued it and released worse and worst versions.

Lom

I don't know the previous versions but the 2017 smells old and cloying. It is a very simple perfume, the kind that makes gyms lockerooms smell bad. Must be especially terrible in combination with sweat. This is not fresh, it is like a toilette spray.

Blu225

Hi all. Had a few questions. I might of located a 2008 version of Dior homme sport in sephora. It has the black box in the middle. And rest of box is white. Borders around the black are red I believe. I asked the woman in sephora if this was the old version. They were unsure. Next to it was the 2012 version. The 2008 was a 1.7 oz. pretty sure it will be the 2012 price for that size. Is this worth picking up. Will the juice still be ok. Or is 2017 version better. Also never smelled 2008, I have smelled 2017 version and do like it. I am in ny. Long Island. Maybe all sephoras have the 2008 still on the shelves. Any insight is appreciated
