I miss this fragrance so much!

BalkanFragranceLover

Citrusy fresh cotton candy delight.

The opening straight up reminds me of the Kozunak bread that is made all over the slavic Balkan countries during Easter - freshly baked sweet dough sprinkled with sugar that have started to melt over the the crust, and there are sprinkles of orange peel powder in the dough that give it that sparkly citrus feel.

The Master perfumer does it again, hats off to Monsieur Ellena.

Performance? It's a high heat summer freshy that does not contain heavy doses of aroma chemicals, do not expect miracles, but i would say it's on par with the rest of the genre.

Nonsensical "allergen" EU legislations kills another masterpiece. Eau Givree unfortunately, simply cannot compare.

Sam_NY_89

This is my second comment on this because I miss it so much and I miss the highest quality citrus notes probably in the history of colognes. Discontinued due to some regulation about ingredients. It was a blast of a big bowl of natures gifts to humanity just miss it and also miss the touch of Ellena's philosophy in perfumery.

Ashwin19

This is the best natural citrus I have ever smelled. Hands down it's GOAT perfume by GOAT brand. You can not go wrong if you love the natural authentic notes Mother Earth has to offer.

You can smell fresh peel of orange and grapefruit with a pinch of Marigold kind of hint. Mids and Downs are as suggested woody and patchouli based.

It's clean and simple but with unique depth which is addictive, you can not stop smelling your wrist and clothes.

The only downside is it is not a long-lasting perfume & it is acceptable considering as a Freshy.

hyperfocus

This isn't for general consumer that seeks the "best". This is for the ones that appreciate the natural fragrances of Hermes, ones that seeks the scents that they crave from their childhood far away from cities or ones that want to run away some day.

Wicker basket full of mostly green and unripe oranges and mandarins. Some are cut and cracked spilling juice. Some has twigs and leaves on. Who collected them tied her little scarf to basket's handle.

Juice is realistic and non linear, very enjoyeble but it isn't the main player here, it's orange and mandarin peels that varies between green and orange color.

Wood smell is so clear and specific, it is unmistakenly wicker basket and twigs that are still connected to the fruits and leaves.

Let's come down to where i got the scarf smell from. There is a thin fabric smell after parsing other scents out. I visually remember that scarf smell, dried under torrid heat of the sun.

This is passionately and masterfully created by Jean-Claude Ellena and it has everything that is missing from modern perfumery. He wasn't satisfied by just realistic juice nor fruit nor some nice wood... He recreated that whole vision to share with us. Like all of his other creations.

Like the rest of its Terre family, Eau Fraiche opens at a sun-drenched orchard where (this will make sense to those who have seen the tiktoks) the white-powdered oranges are cut open by a Chinese man wielding a machete, and out pours fizzy, highlighter-vibrant juice. But then, said Chinese man starts sweating a little, and the solitary, proud note of BO kicks in- just faint enough that you keep getting tricked to give the fragrance a deeper whiff, standing deviant amid the citruses like a bard amidst revellers. Kinda fun for the plot twist, 6/10

m373x

Opens up with beautiful realistic fizzy juicy orange that turns into nondescript citruses and body odor smell after just a few minutes, repulsive. Sweaty armpits. The body odor smell is prominent and sticks around for an hour or so then the fragrance turns into citruses and watery notes with soft background of human sweat for the rest of its life. Moderate to soft projection, 5 hours longevity.

I hate this fragrance, gave it 10 wears and sold my bottle. Sample first.

2/10

eaudemale

Bitter orange/grapefruit notes over the Terre DNA of mineral, vetiver and dry cedar, all this with a heart of pissy geranium (this is the geranium, it smells like cat piss). Longevity is alright, 4 hours tops but it’s more refreshing than the original for a sunny day. Tbh I like this one more than Eau Givree.

ismellsomething

@stardust_ziggy You cannot leave citrus fragrance in car under high temperature, natural ingredients goes bad and it can smell like cat piss or worse. My guess that happen to you.

ismellsomething

That smell you are left on hands when you peel 🍊. Refreshing. Rumor goes its discontinued because some supstance in it caused skin allergies on small percentage of people. I managed to found 125ml rifill and then bought bottles to put into them.

jlog23

Bitter, earthy, orange peel. As if there were oranges that dropped from a tree and onto the soil below. You pick them up and wash them off in a bucket of water. They are still ripe and juicy but have that slightly dirty smell to them. A great summertime frag for the mature man who likes to have fun.

newbie-in-frag(ame)

The GOAT freshie. The sun is up high, shinning on the horizon of possibilities. The water is clear and inviting. The smiles are flowing, so is the gin. It's a good day, boys.

JImbonA583BG

I have just put few spritz on me,so far,so good. The juicyness of the citruses is remarkable.I dont get the comparisons with bad breath and sweaty armpits, this is the eathiness from the patchouli i guess. It screams gentleman vibes.I find this very versatile and easy to wear, its light and delicate.I dont have any experience with the geranium note,so im not able to comment on it.Its pretty safe in my opinion.Pefect for casual ride.I will be back for more updates.
The wood part is subtle to my nose, the frag stays fresh throughout its lifespan. Its been six hours and i can still smell it,the longevity seems satisfactory.Overall the quality is nice,as you'd expect from Hermes. At the end of the show you are left with the DNA of Terre'd Hermes.

Bigmike650

I own both Eau Tres Fraiche and Eau Givree and Eau Tres Fraiche is better in my opinion. I like both but Eau Tres Fraiche gives me Bvlgari Aqva Amara vibes, just not as loud as Amara. Eau Givree is nice but you could do better for less $ D&G Light Blue Italian Love is a Grapefruit bomb just like Eau Givree but for damn near half the price. I prefer Italian Love.

otteromkram

It's nice. Little brighter than the EDT, so good for warmer weather.

Between TdH ETF and Eau Givrée, I'd go with the latter.

I initially bought this because the sample I got was pretty good, but the bottle has a little less "pop" to it.

fragmori81

The day i bought Terre de D'Hermès Eau fraiche initially i went to my favorite fragrance store to buy Fahrenheit Cologne. However,to my biggest disapointment it was out of stock i was looking for a citrus based frag for the scorching summer tropical days,my eyes look towards the Hermes Sélection i grab the Eau fraiche version and it was love at first sniff, the opening is orangy very very realistic perhaps one of the most citrus realistic opening in the frag world, some vétiver comes in not as much as the OG though, the geranium and the Watery notes are just the perfect combo for summer,7 sprays is my go to and always gives me 5-6hrs of longevity with soft to meduim projection good for dress up and even dressed down scenarios,i love to wear it in summer when it's cloudy almost rainy weather, grab it if you can as unfortunately it has been discontinued.

jjjooonnn

I like this, but it doesn't last long.

It's citrus-y but with a mineral quality that to me takes precedence. If I want more orange I wouldn't choose this, and that leads me to skip this more than others on the shelf.

La grande bellezza

A few years ago, the lady in the perfumery introduced me OG TDH edt. I sprayed it on my hand and the smell was unusual and appealed to me a lot. I immediately bought a set of 100+12.5ml and aftershave balm.

I found Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche version with a white cap on Dra.Doc's youtube channels and I was very attracted by the bottle and the review.

I couldn't find it for a long time to try (I didn't want to buy blindly) when I finally found it, wow ...one of the best freshie I know!
Freshie with added value. I immediately bought 125ml bottle.

That's how I started to become aware of the art of Jean Claude Ellena. Master perfumer of transparent airy tones.
(Talente Christine Nagel continues Mr. Ellena's legacy and originality with her talent and originality)

As time went by, my bottle Tres Fraiche slowly passes. (I have a lot of scents so I rotate them) I was nearing the end of my 125ml bottle. When I heard that it was discontinued, I bought a 200ml bottle.

The Givree is also very good, but I think Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche is more interesting.

If you still find somewhere, don't hesitate.

3NO7

Man EosKaiAstraea, I couldn’t have said it any better. I get a lot of citrus and florals up top. It settles into a very nice clean skin type scent. Reminds me of fresh clean armpit… not in a bad way. Well done and very interesting for a freshy. Not generic, but still very very wearable.

Excellent perfumery. Masterfully done!

EosKaiAstraea

If you’re going in expecting TDH, you’re going to be disappointed just like I was at first (as well as the review below me).

Blind bought. I smelled TDH for the first time in store and fell in love with it after smelling it on me over the course of the day. Did some research and learned that this had been discontinued but still some in stock, so I jumped on it.

Did not enjoy it at first whatsoever. Came across much more less smoothly to my nose than what I remembered. Gave it a fair shot though and eventually warmed up to it a bit.

Then I got the OG TDH and my appreciation for this skyrocketed. My appreciation for the original didn’t drop at all but I finally understood what they were going for. I didn’t really understand the “ultra fresh” and it was interpreted more as a body odor kind of feel. Not that it smelled like actual odor but it was more in line with a fresh armpit than anything I could think of.

Please don’t let that deter you from trying out the magic that is this fragrance though. I feel like I get a couple different scent experiences from this one juice. There’s the scent you know and expect and then there’s the “activated” experience where the aquatics absolutely take flight and transform this into a potential king of all freshies. It’s difficult to describe with how well blended this concoction is but it’s like you’re imagining that bitter orange peel and then someone splashed some crisp sea water over it. Not the super salty sea water but the kind you wouldn’t mind swimming in yourself. We’re talking untreated (mineralic) deer park springs, not ocean city maryland.

I would consider this to be a potentially challenging freshie in the grand scheme of things. Not that it’s hard to wear whatsoever but it’s not something I’d expect anyone to appreciate the depth of immediately. You might have to sit with this one for a week or so like I did. Maybe some maceration had to take place after the shipping. Regardless, it sits within the realm of that mass appeal kinda citrus woody scent profile but does more than enough to plant a unique stake in the ground.

Smellybutgood

Another absolute masterpiece
by Jean-Claude Ellena. I love the entire line.

Eau Très Fraîche pays homage to Terre d’Hermès EDT but rather than capturing the idea of dry earth, it creates the vision of water springing from the soil in a much lighter and more refreshing version of the undeniably classic masculine EDT.

Perfect for Spring and Summer but also suitable for warmer fall days.

For the life of me, I can't understand why this was discontinued.

Docplaya

This is a pleasant citrus fragrance. Eau Tres Fraiche opens with an orangey-citrus note. Unlike Terre d'Hermes edt, these citrus notes are not bitter. In fact, they are tres fresh. This is an instant skin-scent on me, and it is undetectable within an hour and a half after application. I can’t justify a full bottle purchase.

derby2169

I expected Eau Tres Fraiche to be good, but not this good. I am almost tempted to say that it is better than the EDT... maybe not, but it certainly is close if not equal.

Ellena is essentially the best in the world in creating these very stable relatively linear fresh but dry woody aromatic mega accords, like in the original EDT aka the 'filthy' orange (to my nose more of a bergamot bitter orange vibe), Eau Tres Fraiche is to my nose an overripe mandarin orange (at times crossing into bitter orange territory as well). The vibe you get from this one is essentially the mist of rind oil that sprays into the air as you tear into the peel of a very very ripe mandarin orange. So it has that bitterness of the peel but also the watery freshness of the spraying juice, but with very little sweetness, so none of the pulp of the fruit.

I see the association with Bigarade Concentree there appears to be a similar dry compound present in the opening with a bit of a rubbery/cumin-like edge, but without the pungency of the spice. However it is balanced out by fresh watery slightly salty compounds running through the back, Iso E, and a trace of patchouli in the back. Indeed as it dries down I get more terpinic woods some saltiness and some of that aforementioned rubbery/leathery undertone. A very elegant balance between the dry citrus and damp wateriness keep this fragrance feeling fresh but also warm at the same time.

Very impressive. The question remains if the ridiculous price of 150-190$ for 75ml on ebay is worth it. It's debatable. I don't see that level of raw material in this fragrance, the experience is however excellent. I recommend getting a decant or a cheaper used bottle instead.

Marcjohn86

It's unfortunate that this has been discontinued, because it is really good. I picked it up actually right after Hermes announced Eau Givree because it seemed as if the writing was on the wall for this, and I knew that they couldn't/wouldn't be able to justify keeping both around. One of the freshest of the freshies, perfect for spring and summer, it's almost aquatic, I definitely get this watery vibe but it's not really salty or oceanic. It's more like citruses in a pitcher full of iced spring water, and then you get some spices with it. Doesn't smell like lemonade or sprite to me, it's nearly devoid of sweetness but in a good and classical Jean-Claude Ellena way. It lasts on skin for longer than a lot of similar fragrances but it's subtle and sits close to the skin. The perfect setting for this is spring through early fall, casual or business casual. I imagine myself wearing a sport shirt, khaki shorts, crocs/sandals or a nice clean white pair of tennis shoes and Wayfarers at a company BBQ in the summer or along those lines.

Wacaz

Opening is 10/10, citrusy, green and a tinge of vetiver.
Just after 15 mins a green note pops up which I can't pin point what is it. I am not a fan for this stage.
This green note stays for 15-20 mins and then it dries down to lemony vetiver smell, very similar to Vetiver Sensual Mancera.
For me, less that green note phase, which some has described differently, it is an awesome scent.
However, as i have Mancera Vetiver Sensual, it will be redundant to have a full bottle. Mancera has better performance and more projection. But opening of this one is ❤️
At the end, i love it, but may not buy a full bottle.
Overall 9/ 10

aaronmy

I feel like I'm missing something here. This fragrance does not come off as bad to me at all. It smells like a spicy fresh orange. It's similar to D&G Italian Love. It's pretty good. I likely will not add this to my collection, but it is worth smelling.

actual-working-nose

sadly the great orange note in this is overshadowed by a super sweaty accord. it's not 100% dirty sweat, just clean sweat. probably a tiny bit of cumin in this, just not enough for hermes to list it as a note. glad it's gone, people shouldn't wear sweaty fragrances

NiqueK

Blind bought when it first launched, and I regret it.
All these years later and I don’t think I have used it more than a handful of times.

IMO they should stop with the TdH flankers and just keep the original two, the EDT and the Parfum version, and that’s it

Those two are similar enough, just stop messing with a good thing and keep the classics.

They are some of the best men’s fragrances ever made.

Djedi

The designer version of Cologne Bigarade/Bigarade Concentree if you ask me. They're obviously not identical but their similarity is undeniable. I almost missed out on this one as I thought it would be a less ''mineral'' version of TdH, but I'm glad I picked up a bottle right before its discontinuation. Authentic orange peel scent with more pronounced (cedar) woods in the drydown. Obviously CB/BC is perhaps of better quality, but this smells different enough from TdH at which people who dislike TdH might actually enjoy it. For me a summer staple, and it's a shame they had to discontinue this due to its lilial content. Performance could be better, but for the blend alone it's worth owning if you're a fan of citrus scents.

9/10

Mr.Owl

There is a cumin like note in this that I cannot stand. I will try it again at a later time but as of now I just do not like it. I love the original Terre d'Hermes and the other flankers are great but this one has that body odor like cumin note I cannot get over. I fell for the discontinuation hype and blind bought it from sephora before it disappeared.

NJCaminiti

Blind bought 200 ml of this after seeing it favorably compared to Malle's bigarade concentree, another JPE citrus scent, and noticing that it was discontinued.

I'm happy with the purchase, and it continues to grow on me with each wear, but disregarding pricing, Bigarade concentree is superior (and also truly unisex, where ETF leans more masculine).

This starts really nice, with a blast of fresh citrus that is extremely pleasant and uplifting, but there is a period during the early to mid dry-down where it just smells like mechanics' orange hand cleaner. Not unpleasant, but not exactly "high-end". BC on the other hand smells natural and sophisticated from start to finish.

Recommend spraying this on clothing to allow the base notes to build up and linger. Once those are established, they go a long way in balancing and supporting the top notes and early dry-down of skin application.

purgolder83

I followed Don Pitralon's advice and snagged a 200 ml bottle to ride into the sunset.

Freshaquatic

Scroll back and look at the reviews of this from when it was released - when it actually had the orangey opening. The recent reviews, while accurate for today's offering are not reflective of the original.

Unfortunately, the IFRA restrictions have not been kind to Eau Tres Fraiche over the years, and the current bottles available for purchase (the last ones available before it was discontinued) are much different.

I, too, experienced the disappointment of the "icy, non-descript citrus opening" at the Hermes boutique from a recent bottle. Gone is the gorgeous, mature orange opening that it once had. Luckily I still have one third of my original bottle, and was able to find another original formulation bottle on eBay as a backup!

Spraying the recent formula on a card at a department store (ten times) until it was soaked was not enough to match the normal two sprays from the 2014 bottle, so keep that in mind when reading a recent review.

oceansoflorewi

Yeah... it's ok.

Other than the obvious TDH dna it reminds me of Artisan pure but more watered down (That's not a good thing as Artisan is more vibrant). This almost reminds me of orange flavored bubly sparkling water (That's also not a compliment lol).

Either I go easily nose blind to this or its really an EDC concentration. I have OG late 00's TDH edt bottles- i'll stick to those if I want the TDH dna. I can see why the original is a masterpiece- the orange is nothing without that vetiver. That orange and vetiver is like PB & jelly. Idk that orange note just sits there chillin' with no personality nor uniqueness in this one.

I would have taken it farther- and delivered a summer orange masterpiece as Hermes is king of oranges. In spirit of summer maybe should have made it more like orange sherbet and cold- so with menthol. Or orange-sicle without too much vanilla. IDK. Something more orangey and fun for the summer. Ice cream man truck orange summer vibes but with Hermes masculine class.

This is SO boring and unoriginal for an Eau Fraiche flanker- I'll stick with Y Eau Fraiche and Versace fraiche which are top shelf fraiche's in the designer realm.

lmao- you know what this reminds me of actually- the original TDH EDT- BUT the skin scent dry down *twelve* hours after wearing it. RIGHT before the scent has its last death bed queef off your skin. SMH - shameful Hermes! Just plain shameful.

Its good they let this one go- gotta try its replacement now.

Steven221283

Have to say this is a very nice scent that I've come to like quite a bit. When I first tried it, it was much too bitter for me. After trying more orange based fragrances, my nose has gotten more used to this and it's actually one of the best orange frags I've smelled.

I see Vibrant Leather Eclat de Bergamote rated highly in the "smells like" section, but I don't really agree with this. The Zara is more of a juicy orange mixed with an Aventus style DNA, while this one is a bitter orange peel mixed woth the Terre d'Hermes DNA, so quite different. Both really good, I actually like the Zara one a lot aside from the performance.

It's a shame this is discontinued and therefore quite expensive now. I'm resorting to using up my 5ml decant and buying a 12.5ml mini on eBay. I have so many freshies now that I'll probably never use more than that anyway.

The Wolf

This reminds me of Hermes Voyage.
Something in this smells rotten. I'm surprised it's cumin because I own many frags with cumin and it doesn't bother me.

But when mixed with a citrus dominant fragrance (like here) it makes it smell like rotten grapefruit. The culprit is actually the reason this frag was discontinued: Lillial can have a cumin smell and it's now banned by the European Union.

I love TDH EDT, EDP, Eau intense vetiver and Eau Givree. But I don't like this.

Edit: I may have been a bit harsh on my first impression. My friends encouraged me to stay with it.
After another wearing I don't find it bad like I initially did. I'm going to give this 5 wearings.

IamdrinkingBeer

One of the best fresh summer scents of all time. ALL TIME. If you are planning on buying bigarade concentree, stop yourself and go for this. This is cheaper and way more enjoyable.

JmThms

I don't think any cumin accord in Eau Tres Fraiche degrades the fragrance, and I'm VERY sensitive to cumin accords. Far too many use it non-judiciously. This is a great, zesty citrus fragrance that does feature touches of the OG DNA. Hearing of the discontinuation, I ordered a second bottle. And with regard to the European legislation that prompted the discontinuation, it's of course ridiculous but not surprising. There are a bunch of weird ideologues in these governmental bodies, perhaps even worse in the European Union than inthe United States. There was a UK regulator that even advocated for the complete dissolution if the perfumery industry. They are ridiculous. Author T.R. Reid's books "The Healing of America" and "The United States of Europe" discusses the weird hyper-sensitivities of EU regulators to both real and perceived environmental threats. It's a societal disease.

PapaTLooch

Gorgeous watery, zesty orange and rosy geranium. Cedar, wood and patchouli appear in dry down while citrus and floral remain throughout. A beautifully clean and fresh unisex fragrance that smells so smooth and sophisticated. Dry down becomes more creamy and kind of soapy. That flint smell is there but more subtle than the original. Masterpiece.

abahvdbs

Td'H Eau Tres Fraiche is like fresh cut oranges in a wooden basket lined w/ a freshly laundered white linen or cotton fabric;

very realistic citrus/orange and juicy due to the 'water notes', the woods & the florals adds bright freshness, the florals make it unisex;
citrusy-freshie, not a unique scent profile, very similar to the OG JV Artisan but Td'H Eau Tres Fraiche is of better quality especially the citrus and isn't soapy like Artisan;

Projection/Sillage': DECENT, aromatic, 7-10 ft scent bubble with trail for the 1st 2 hours or so

Performance/Longevity: DECENT, 5-6 hours (on fabric)

Don Pitralon

I have tried Eau Tres Fraiche following announcement of its discontinuation driven by yet another ridiculous IFRA purge. I tested it side by side with its successor Eau Givree and ETF comes out as a clear winner from that comparison. Eau Givree is very generic to my nose, I get it, there is this ice cold zesty grapefruit that all youtubers go gaga about - but common - Zara Pamplemousse does the same thing, photorealistically and for 4x less… ETF on the other end keeps same fresh profile, but adds solid dirty floral (rose/geranium) backbone which connects it with the original TdH and gives it sense of maturity and seriousness that Givree can only dream about. I get it, this probably does not appeal to the masses as much and will easily be surpassed by Givree’s future commercial success, but I’d rather grab a bottle of EFT while they are still available for decent price. And you should do the same!

Zizi518

I had very high expectations for Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche based on the fact that I love the original Terre d'Hermes and citrusy notes in general. Unfortunately I have to say I'm slightly disappointed with this one. Don't get me wrong, this has a good amount of the original DNA and has some very nice icy citrusy top notes but the combined result isn't what I hoped it to be. The opening is amazing actually, a blast of super crisp, realistic and juicy citruses that feels refreshing and cooling. However, soon in the dry down, something about the earthiness give me a cumin-like note (not really sure how to describe it, it's almost kinda body odor like lol) that's not listed, which I find kind of off-putting. If this doesn't bother you though you might really enjoy this unique citrusy fragrance.

Don't get me wrong this is still a solid fragrance overall. Perhaps I shouldn't have hyped it up as much in my head before trying. IMO you're better off sticking with the original which is a lot classier, more refined and just a better composition overall. If you want citrus dominant fragrances there are also better choices out there that last longer.

Not as strong of an offering as EDT, EDP and Vetiver... those are excellent. I catch a little lemon in the top "citruses" note and to me lemon cheapens the overall vibe. The box and bottle also look cheaper. I wouldn't say Eau Tres Fraiche is very floral as others have but the geranium is prominent. It's a very authentic smelling geranium.
Not bad overall but ETF is the weakest in the line IMO.
This isn't overly feminine as many men's summer fragrances are. So there's that.
Decent performance.

Warm 👏 weather 👏 stunner 👏

doodluv

As a huge fan of TdH and with the weather warming up, I wanted a more wearable more summer appropriate TdH, and this seemed to fit the bill perfectly so I blind bought it. Also, with the confirmation that it will be discontinued, I thought no better time to pick up a bottle than now.

Having finally tried it out, I can easily say this is my least favourite of the line by far.
Opens with a very fizzy dialed up to 11 non descript citrus that doesn't really remind me of the incredible signature orange in TdH. It kinda does it's own thing. It's pleasant, but not unique and a bit generic.
After about 5 minutes it starts to kind of remind me of the OG in a lighter airier way, it's buried somewhere down there under all the added citrus, but not enough to get me excited. I do however quite like the subtle 'watery' note throughout the composition, very refreshing and smooth and makes the fragrance feel aerated and not dense at all.

My issue is if I wanted to go for something light and citrus focused, I'd much rather wear Dior Homme Cologne or something. For now it's a like but not a love. Because of how much I love the rest of the line, I won't instantly give it away and keep it around a bit longer for more testing.

Overall:
#1 tied - EDT/Parfum
#2 - Eau Intense Vetiver
#3 - Eau Tres Fraiche

Hoping the new Givree is better and freshens it up in a different way. Namely, not adding so much citrus and keeping the essence of the original mostly intact.

Edit: Been a couple of months and I've tested this one out more, still don't really like it. Along with the aforementioned lack of resemblance to the OG, I also pick up on this really annoying body odor cumin like note. It fades away after 10-15mins or so, but it's yet another reason this is my least favourite flanker in the line.

They first claimed allergen but it’s now being said one of the components used was banned in March 2022 due to it being associated with causing infertility.

@BeanSoupBoy

What a sad reality. Look hard enough and you'll find someone allergic to anything. Sure, legislation is great for some things but come on, let us fragrance nerds have what we like. If someone's truly allergic to a fragrance, can't they simply not wear it?

Anyway, Eau Tres Fraiche is a great fragrance I would place above the original Terre d'Hermes. Incredibly bright and effervescent to my nose.

BeanSoupBoy

I have noticed stock of this disappearing everywhere, so I decided to email Hermes about it directly, and this is the reply I got this afternoon.

"European legislation has declared allergen a component widely used in perfumery. Terre d'Hermès Eau Très Fraîche contained this component and it was not possible to substitute it without distorting the fragrance. Terre d'Hermes Eau Très Fraîche is thus removed from our collections.
A new Terre d'Hermès Eau Givrée fragrance will be released soon before this summer. It will be different but will offer another interpretation of freshness.
We thank you for your trust and understanding."

HidingSun

I believe it's the saline water note mixed with orange peel citric note together creates that cumin like accord upon initial spray which many reviewers have complained about. This phase doesn't last for even 15 seconds, later it is mostly weak Original TdH smell with added citrus. Even the longevity has taken a hit, as the name suggests it's watered version.

I'm rotating this with Hugo boss Unlimited and Guerlain Homme Parfum this summer. Performance is poor among these 3 perfumes. Yet it's very likable on its own. So yes, a summer ready 4 hour long Terre de Hermes is what you'll get.

DEDMAR

It all started with a 5ml decant which I planned to put away right after first wearing. I then used it once again and started to like it a bit more. On my skin the opening is little strange but fortunatelly after couple minutes it starts to improve significantly and becomes really beautiful hot weather freshie with adequate projection and longevity. To enjoy the best out of this fragrance, save it up for days with temperatures over 25°C. The note of orange is among the best I have smelled so far, very nicely done, really refreshing.

Long story short, I have my bottle on the way. It seems it got axed so if you want to have this in your collection, do not wait much longer.

Solid 8.5/10 in my book.

brokesta911

Hermes Terre d’hermes Eau Tres Fraiche (2014) - orange salt - #jeanclaudeellena makes one of the best flankers of the classic. It still has the orange-vetiver-woody-dry earth accord, but in this version, he adds more citrus top notes at the start making it fresher and also adding a saline-like note. Modern and a delight to wear when humidity and heat strikes.

OmarBlue

I love this perfume and it is unfortunate that they are planning to discontinue it. I got a new bottle before it is out of stock and it was worth it.

In here, oranges are cited as a note, although the website mentions bitter oranges instead. If you have smelled a real bitter orange before, you will for sure appreciate the difference between an orange and a bitter orange, which is way more fragrant and lovely IMO.

It is similar to Bigarade concentree in the opening, which I love too but then dries to a softer woodier base, in comparison to BC, which I find soapier, cleaner but a little harsher. I love them both and each one brings a different mood with it.

I tend to spray one of them on top of ELdO Hermann, so once the bitter orange notes start to dissipate, the woody/earthy notes in these perfumes will blend with the woody/earthy notes and geosmin in Hermann to create a beautiful symphony... a masterpiece.

jaybie

I just spoke with a Hermes representative on the phone and asked if Terre d'Hermes Eau tres fraiche Eau de toilette (Product reference: V34656) was discontinued. The rep said it is not discontinued, it is out of stock on the website and to keep checking back. Of course, the rep may not have got the official word, but there's hope that the new flanker doesn't mean the end of this one.

Cdub5_

One of the best fragrances to wear in the spring and summer. Surprising longevity.

Recently discontinued so I'm fortunate to have a bottle.

Would highly recommend at the current price point.

btd069

I own the entire TDH line. I do really like this but its probably my least favorite of the line. On the initial spray, i'm getting something that reminds me of a cumin-like accord. Thankfully, it doesn't stick around for very long, but it's a little off-putting at first. Once that goes away, it gets way better, and is definitely indicative of the name, its a fresher, lighter, less "dirty" and earthy version of the original, EDP and Intense Vetiver. It also seems like, as that genre of fresher fragrance, will not likely project or last a long as the others but with more wearings, we will see. It's a salty aquatic mixed with Citrus vibes.

I got a really good deal on a tester bottle, and since it doesn't have a traditional cap and only a twist protector, you should get a tester unless you're really into boxes. I am not, so this pickup for about $50 was totally worth it. This was the only flanker i was missing, and was glad to pick this up to complete my TDH line.

UPDATE : Longevity on my skin is actually decent for a fresh fragrance. i could still smell it pretty well after 5 hours. 8 hours later and i can still smell on skin but no longer projecting. Pretty impressed with the performance.

washudtoj

This fragrance blew me away from the first spritz.

Forget the overhyped-and-poor-excuse-of-a-citrus fragrance that is John Varvatos Artisan Pure. Terre d'Hermès Eau Très Fraîche (TdETF) is THE citrus fragrance ultimate. I kid you not - I love citrus fragrances in general, but so far, the ONLY citrus fragrance that has wowed me to the same effect as this one is the ever (and deservedly) popular l'Eau d'Issey pour Homme (LDPH).

As far as designer fragrances are concerned, TdETF and LDPH are the best ones I've ever come across. Both have that zesty, mouth-watering, ACIDIC citruses in not only the opening, but well into the dry down. Both challenge the cliché that citrus fragrances don't last by providing no fewer than five solid hours on my skin. I can't say which one I like better because I love them both so, so much. TdETF is more spicy-herbal in the background, and is orange based, whereas LDPH is more floral, and is yuzu and lemon based.

So, how zesty is TdETF? Imagine you are sitting right next to someone peeling fresh oranges with some fresh spices on the table. It is THAT zesty. The orange oil and orange peels are hyper-photorealistic here. This fragrance really deserves the name Eau Très Fraîche, because it is REALLY fresh. Imagine John Varvatos Artisan (the original, not the overhyped 'Pure' flanker) but its oranges amped up twentyfold, and supplant the aromatic herbal element with mild spices and you get the idea of how this one smells.

Compared to Terre d'Hermès (original), this one has less spice, less earthiness (vetiver), and MUCH more citrus. If you like the original, you may or may not like this one because this is a much younger interpretation of it, but if you don't like the original but love citrus fragrances, give this one a try. Highly recommended.

If you don't like citrus fragrances, well, why are you even reading the reviews of this product? Go read reviews of other fragrances and enjoy the stuff you like!

Whilst the general consensus is for use in spring and summer, I'd stretch it to fall, as well. The piercingly sharp citrus and mild spices would be ideal to project in colder weather, and plus, who doesn't love a little freshness in gloomy autumn? It'll help lighten the mood.

In conclusion, I love this one so much that if I get to keep only two citrus fragrances, this would definitely be one of them. (You already know what the other one will be if you've read this far so there's no need for me to reiterate.) If you love citruses, this is a must-try. If you don't, please stay away from it because this is a citrus bomb. Guys, don't fall for the hype of Artisan Pure - you deserve more class than that - get this one or l'Eau d'Issey pour Homme instead and thank me later.

Update: this wonderful fragrance is now discontinued. Why is Hermès so stupid? They discontinued this and replaced it with Eau Guivrée and it's NOT as good.

VETTIVAER

Bright citrus zest - ripe orange as with the Terre line, but now also brighter yellow citruses - pomelo, yuzu or the like. Hints of calone bringing in aquatic and faraway metallic notes.

Dries down slightly spicy- pepper and geranium as with the original TdH EdT. Better projection than the original.

Whereas the original EdT reminds one of the mediterranean countryside on a hot sunny day, the Eau Tres Fraiche is somewhat more urban, modern, more energetic. It evokes the image of driving down a highway in the summer afternoon in a convertible with the top down in some relaxed mediterranean city.

Definitely a summer scent.

Sam_NY_89

If you like the regular Terre but hate the dirty earthy notes, this is for you fresh citrus blast mainly Pomelo, Yuzu and grapefruit. The quality is Hermes quality and I think most of the notes in here came from high quality natural oils. Beautiful if you appreciate the aroma of nature goodness.

newbie-in-frag(ame)

Wear this when it's 32ºC plus. You're gonna be the man.

EasySeventy

Superb warm weather scent. An uplifting, realistic citrus opening (I sense some Neroli too) which slowly and linearly fades over a period of a few hours. The background is a very delicate woody note. I can’t get the geranium everyone is referring to - to me it smells more like a hint of cloves. Overall, I find it to be perfect for very hot days and I don’t feel it is redundant if you have the original EDT.

HARDSTYLE916

Sampling this right now and it reminds me of Encore Noir Sport but amped up woody notes. It is quite polarizing in the beginning. I get a smoky/dirty vibe like the smell of muddy wet weed/grass. Have not tried the original or other flankers. Might like them better. Also this burns my skin. First time, for me, a fragrance that burns my skin.

Arber Cami

To me, its the best Terre flanker. It has that original Terre D'hermes DNA, but with a zesty, watery swing to it. It opens up really orangy-citrusy to go down to a woody-lighter Terre d'Hermes. I highly recommend it if you like the original. Great for Spring and Summer.

autumnrequiem

An underrated flanker for one of the best commercial designer scents ever made. Very worthy of its name. A very realistic orange can be almost felt followed by a really lovely geranium which stays afterwards for most of its longevity. Really inoffensive scent that is perfect for a walk in the morning or brunch time.

The original EDT is an absolute masterpiece of perfumery and this is a fair flanker to it, which to me, speaks great lengths about how good it really is. Performance and projection is absolutely on par with an eau fraîche.

Love this one.

martydegney

Summer in a bottle if you were rich and relaxed.
Watery, geranium, citrus with dry woods to earth it.
Think pencil shavings dipped in artisanal Fanta.
Sillage great for 1 hour.
Wear it to a pool party with trust fund babies.

Malthus101

Unimpressed. Fan or the original, but it's too thick for really hot weather. Wanted something lighter. Tried the Intense Vetiver the other day which I am actually into. But I already have a vetiver with me, the Tom Ford "Grey Vetiver". TFs Grey is more an office vetiver, and the TdH Vetiver is more summery with a very definite DNA of the original TdH but without the heaviness.

I was hoping this would be a TdH quality, lighter alternative, without vetiver and be wearable in hot weather. To me, it's underwhelming. Weird, not particularly nice opening but that disappears almost instantly. As does this scent. Instant skin scent, no silage whatsoever I think. It's an EDT so I shouldn't expect too much but... at this price I need mote bang for buck.

I wish I'd brought my Xerjoff XJ 1861 Renaissance for the BEST summer citrus scent, left the TF Grey at home, then I could buy this TdH Vetiver Intense. With the Xerjoff for citrus and the TdH for a vetiver summer frag, both bases would be covered. I think too, I would throw in James Heeley "Sel Marin" for a marine scent.

But this TdH "Tres Fraiche" is tres boring et un grande let-down for me. Pass.

heylegros

I just blind bought this flanker from the Terre d'Hermès line after watching and reading several online reviews that almost unanimously described Eau très fraîche as a "more wearable" take on the OG.

I respectfully disagree with that statement, and I must add that this thing's opening is leaving me quite confused.

From the get-go, I pick up something in Eau très fraîche that initially almost came off as a bad breath/sweat vibe with a strong orange note. It's not totally repulsive like bad breath or sweat, but it's a puzzling choice, in my view. It is hard to put my finger on what it is specifically. I've got a few suspects, here, as I'm looking at the notes breakdown.

Some folks on here have noted that they picked up a cumin note (which is not listed), and it could be something along those lines and how it blends with other notes that are in there, or perhaps with the bitterness of the orange note.

Could it be that geranium note that's too strong and just nests with the orange and citrus notes in an odd manner?

Or could it be those toned down woody notes that just don't carry and round up the bitterness of the orange note as smoothly as the cedar and vetiver did in the original?

The one theory that I'm leaning towards is that it could be those watery notes. In a flanker called "Eau très fraîche", I expected them to come out as very fresh, invigorating, almost à la Acqua Di Gio or much like aquatic vibes that you get in certain freshies. It could be that, in Eau très fraîche, they lean towards those whiffs that you get on a warm foggy morning, walking along an oceanside trail, with a salty aspect to them, and an algae-like vibe that's not fishy, but clearly organic. It is quite potent, and somewhat dirty.

Anyhow, that weird, almost off-putting note/accord fades away quite quickly, thankfully, leaving more room to the fresh orange and citrus notes. In the drydown, this becomes quite lighter, both in terms of smell and in terms of projection. But by the time this scent becomes fully pleasant, its performance is nearing curtain close.

I absolutely love the original Terre, and I would definitely pick that one up over this flanker on any day of the week. Besides the actual scent, the performance of Eau très fraîche is disappointing, with only 2-3 hours of moderate projection before it becomes a skin scent.

I'm hoping that I'll get used to it, with Eau très fraîche's fresh goodness unveiling itself to my untrained nose. The second and third wears were actually much better, and I yet have to wear this on a hot sunny day (fall is pretty chilly in my neck of the woods). Time shall tell. I'll edit my review accordingly, if need be.

But thus far, I'd say this one is not nearly as good as the OG, which is a timeless classic. And to me, it's not "more wearable" at all. And neither does it feel "fresher".

In a few words: Poorly performing, fruitier, less woody take on the Terre d'Hermès DNA with an odd organic accord in the opening.
Pros: Nice, crisp orange note backbone, pleasant drydown.
Cons: Odd opening that just doesn't fit the "Eau très fraîche" (fresh) name and expectations that come with it. Poor performance.
Overall rating (out of five stars): ★★

firefox390

Spritzy/fizzy citrus at the opening, definitely picking up the TdH DNA but dialled down with addition of geranium gradually sneaking in after 30 mins making it mildly floral and brightens up the scent, for a freshy longevity is decent at 3-4 hours, sillage is fairly good as well, more versatile (i.e.: going shopping or gym) and safer than the EDT yet not as romantic or alluring, living in Canada I can only see this useful for spring & summer. 4.3 out of 5.

asgeirn

The iegend Terre d'Hermes done just right. So much more wearable in comparison to its loud big brother. Two thumbs up and instant happy go lucky mode for me.

stalal

This is invigorating and beautiful. I think it is going to be my 2021 summer go to fragrance. Orange with dialled down earthy/dirty note from Terre D'Hermes. Geranium kicks in beautifully after some time but does smell like rose to me. Very long lasting, i am just not sure about sillage because we have been in lockdown since forever in Sydney. I say if you don't have any Terre d'Hermes buy this one.
Always check the profile of the people to understand what sort of perfumes a reviewer is into before taking their opinion seriously.

pogo

Smells like a cool pitcher of water with some orange slices and some flowers floating inside.

Summery, nice orange, definitely refreshing, but quite floral.

PPAN

Photorealistic fresh orange for the first 10 minutes, then it's just geranium. Too floral for me.

ajax91

TDH smells like dried orange peel snacks from Asia or orange + lemongrass juice. This just smell like an unpeeled fresh orange. Hold an fresh orange or lime and smell it. That's what you'll get. Another way to describe it is as simple as orange/lime juice

Performance is average. TDH 2020 batch last 8 hours, this one is around 6 hours, also 2020 batch bottle.

Not the most unique fragrance though. but a pleasant one

OntheMark

Unmistakably a member of the TdH family. I still get that same woody base and even some vetiver, only dialed down in favor of a brighter and more pronounced orange. On a hot day, the volatiles of the citrus blow off fairly quickly, and what you end up with is very similar to the original TdH, which is by no means a bad thing.

And no, this bears no real resemblance to Aqva Amara, except for the orange. But where it's more isolated and layered over the base in TdHTF, the orange in AA is modulated with neroli and more blended into the mid-base, producing a different dry down effect altogether. Both are great juice, just very different from each other.

PedramFrag

Gorgeousness in a bottle. Smells natural and we'll blended. It could perform better but that one is forgiven for its quality. If you want sth fresh but not aquatic, you won't find anything better than this.

domv

This scent quickly became my favorite summertime fragrance, so much so that I used the entire 100ml bottle in the span of just a few short months. The only issue I had was that the performance isn't all that great, which was a shame considering how good this smells. At most it would last around 3-4hours on my skin, before becoming almost unnoticeable, although, this should be expected from an Eau Fraiche variant, and isn't a big deal in practical use.

Regardless, the projection was pretty good while it lasted, around 1 to at the very most 2 hours, and this was still my go-to fragrance during the summertime, even while at home I'd give myself a few sprays as it was sure to just make me feel good while wearing it.

Being a Floridian, that lives near the coast close to Siesta Key, this scent profile was perfect for my environment and a far better alternative for me compared to the usual suspects when it comes to fresh scents like Dior Sauvage. Don't expect this to last all day, but if you're just heading out for a few errands in warm or hot weather, there's not many other fragrances I could recommend than this one, especially for any of my other fellow Floridians out there or perhaps others living near the water like in California.

The citrus here is absolutely gorgeous, and simply using this fragrance feels like a beautiful day out on the beach, or a warm relaxing afternoon at a tiki bar sipping on an ice cold margarita. Definitely a must-have or at least a must-try summer scent.

ZXWolf

if Aqva Amara was a prototype, then Eau Tres Fraiche is the final result, it's a beautiful citrus scent with good longevity above the average for these category of hot weather fragrances

cvaile

For anyone like me who cannot wear a calone-bomb (or frags dripping with any other synthetic marine note) this is quite wearable. If there is calone (or similar) in this, it's not at a problematic concentration for me. Calone usually makes me queasy once it hits my skin, but this scent does not.

I do smell a familiar hint of a "watery" note (more as it dries down), but it's a manageable one or it's been used in an uncommonly measured way. I'd describe it as being closer to a Lotus flower note, which is used as the aquatic note in many compositions.

The opening citrus is absolutely dazzling. You can sense the TdH DNA in there all the way through the scent's development, but it's undeniably wearable in the warmest of days. A great, great summer choice that can still be found for surprisingly great prices (at least this was the case when I got my 125ml bottle, which seems to be the baseline size for this release).

MarsOnEarth

This is easily my favorite summer fragrance. Fresh, sweet, and a little green. Love it. 9/10.

scottgiles86

Very similar to Declaration L'eau from Cartier. Earthy and Herbal, but also watery and fresh. Citrus is not as juicy or sweet as is commonplace in today's "fraiche" frags. Watery notes are just that..."watery". Easier to wear than the original, and can be dressed up if need be. A great designer cologne that conjures thoughts of a businessman dressed in a white polo and khakis on a warm day outdoors getting ready to tee of on the golf course.

amedenica

When I first got it, I wore it once and was like ehh. I think I was scarred by Intense Vetiver bottle since it was my first time wearing vetiver dominant frag. Last week I decided to wear Fraiche for a couple of days, ended up wearing it all 5 days to work. This will now be top 3 summer/fresh/citrus for me.
Not a safe blind buy, especially if you are under 30. But this is a gem for the price you can get it now online.

jarno1208

I like it, but I don't love it. I get mainly orange and some bitter / woody notes. Masculine scent for a fresh scent.

timecapsule96

I have only owned two colognes from this line; the original EDT, and Fraiche. Off the bat in my own 24-year-old opinion, Fraiche is the better of the two. I can respect the EDT for what it is, and the uniqueness of it as there is no denying it holds its own category in the fragrance game. With that in mind, the EDT to me is for an older more mature audience. I picture it being for those 35+ older. It genuinely smells like an orange buried in dirt/moss at the prehistoric section of the natural history museum. Whoever mentioned the fossil comment before me was spot on. However with Fraiche, this cologne is everything I wanted when hearing of an orange scented cologne! It smells incredibly fresh, like the oil that is excreted when squeezing an orange peel. That mixed with the woody scents of the EDT but it is much more toned down thank God. Now this one I would say is appropriate for all ages, specifically the 18-35 range. Perhaps when I’m older I’ll admire the EDT, but I am perfectly pleased with this one on a hot semi-formal summer/spring day.

JoeDiAmo

This was a blind buy based on reviews. I was anticipating a lighter scent profile but it is not.
The opening of Citrus and Orange are quite predominant and comes across quite dirty to me. Dry down becomes less harsh with more of a Lemon overtone but to my nose a predominant Citronella vibe takes over. Don’t hate it but not what I expected from a title of Tres Fraiche. Performance and longevity about average. IMO sample before you buy

Guinea54

I been wearing this one for awhile, almost done with my bottle. This fragrance is kind of a paradox. Simplistic and complicated. Natural and synthetic. To most people and in the air it will come off fresh and vibrant. People will get the citrus notes and it will work nice in hot temps. But this scent is more than just a citrus blast. If you smell it up close it's almost dirty or has some kind of cumin element. The citrus is heavy on the peel which gives it this kind of salty bitter vibe.. but yet it can come across as super fresh and crisp. I enjoy it. It's a very clean dirty fragrance. This is by no means a straight up lemon citrus even if it appears that way sometimes in the air. I get good longevity. The woody/ISO notes stick around quite a bit. If you want a fresh and masculine scent that is crisp and good without going bubble or sweet, this might be something to check out.

The Real Chip Diamond

Lovely fresh orange scent. Much better than the original.

Migalex

I like it better than the original scent. It is simpler, much more citric, and pelargonium (geranium) flourishes more on its own, more faithful to the natural scent, since the other notes are so less preeminent. Those to me are the main notes, lemon in the opening, and then geranium. It is not a sweet scent, but rather fresh.

pogo

It smells more flowery than I expected. I like the citrus opening, but the geranium is noticeable even from the beginning and overall it comes across pretty floral to my nose.

dylanblueboss

Tried it today on my skin and was quiet dissapointed. To me it smells like an basic Gilette Aftershave.

mutatismutandis

Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche is immediately recognisable as having the Terre d'Hermes DNA. However, it does feel that the orange and citruses are sitting in a dustbin surrounded by decomposing food and compost. I'm not sure whether it's the combination of the orange with the geranium that gives it that rather unusual vegetal quality gone wrong. I'd seen people write about the Terre 'dirty orange' but it wasn't something I'd ever felt in Terre d'Hermes EDT or the Parfum. And while you can smell some wood, cedar, and a touch of patchouli, the feeling that I get in the opening is that Terre d'Hermes has been messed about by someone and left the worse for it. And to compound it, the moderate to strong sillage simply exacerbates the issue. But then, over the next few hours the projection drops: moderate in an hour, intimate - moderate in two hours, intimate in three hours, where it stays until it fades away after a total of seven and half to eight hours. I would say it suits the warmer weather better and it feels far more of a day scent than a night one.

TdH ETF is okay as a perfume but it is simply not in the same league as the EDT or the parfum. Buy them instead - they are the classics whereas this is the tribute band.

MoKia

Edit on Aug 2021:
For some reason it lasts very solid on my skin in hot weather. I go with 8-10 sprays & get easy 7-8hrs longevity. It’s smells that good in hot weather, that I can hardly wear anything else from my collection. AMAZING…
—————-
It’s the most realistic Citrus (Orange/Orange peel) fragrance I have ever smelt. I like it more than the OG, but unfortunately as other said it doesn’t perform very well (max 4-5hr on my skin with 1hr projection).
9/10

Raggedalex

quality is much above a designer scent, the citruses are fresh and deep. the fragrance is also extremely likeable, 5/5.

Bison blues

I know this sounds stupid. I love the parfum, but this flanker smells like stale Mexican food. Kinda like if you stay in the restaurant too long and your clothes start to absorb the restraint smell. Not my favorite. I doubt anyone agrees, but this is my opinion.

Aroma Bob

Absolutely love too bad doesnt last long. Hermes should make this a parfum concentration

manygaga

Great summer scent. It opens with a watery orange and dries down to a light woody scent with a hint of patchouli. This is soft, citrusy and watery. This fragrance has the capacity to cool you down and lift up your mood. To me a topnotch and fun fragrance. I like it more than the original because it is less earthy (less vetiver and patchouli?). Performance is not amazing but normal for such a light citrus based scent. Projection is decent for about an hour and it last for about 5 hours.

Bruton Gaster

A refreshing aquatic take on the original, but still gentlemanly and not overly sweet. The citrus here is bright and natural. It's absolutely delightful and is more wearable than TdH especially on warmer days. Gives you the feeling of cracking open an ice cold glass bottle of orange soda on a hot day. Wonderful!

The Nose that Knows

Spring is here and summer is around the corner in North America, and this is definitely the freshy that you need.
100% Blind buy. You will not be disappointed it's really nice. Day and night anytime 😊

1Nose2RuleThemAll

Orange peel with some gentleman woods. It's refreshing and quite natural smelling.
If you like orange with a little twist get yourself a bottle of Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche.

Scent: 9.0/10

Ralphangel

Although, I never really liked the original Hermes Terre, this summer flanker is out of this world! It opens with a bright, fresh fizzy orange accord that blend with these beautiful woody and aquatic notes. An incredible fragrance that will be one of my go to for the summer. Simply amazing! Also, great projetion and longevity.

My 3 P's

caramelgazelle

This one is really natural smelling to me, a lovely change from a lot of synthetic smelling designer fragrances. The orange in the beginning is gorgeous.

noseblind

To me this is the most vivid spray of juice/oil when you're peeling an orange.

It smells super fresh and zesty in the air, just don't smell it directly on the spot that you sprayed.

Murderouscrows

I hated this the first time I tried it but at a certain level of summer heat it becomes a totally different experience.

a7_mad1991

Im in Love! Where has this perfume been all this time??
I was never a lover of the original TdH, due to the peppery notes (I dislike pepper notes in any perfume).
However, the Fraiche edition did away with the peppery notes, and introduced zesty citrus instead.
I feel so refreshed with every spray !
Not a common moment, but I have definitely found an addition to my "must-have" shelf!

JorgeZ

Love this flanker from Terre D'Hermes fragrane line . Much fresher than the original, but not as long lasting. It smells very elegant .

Cortina1981

A really great one!As someone else mentioned,it hasn’t invented the wheel, but smells really great.Immediately you get the original terre DNA,but with lots of citruses. As i own too many freshies, enough for a lifetime,i don’t know if I’m going to purchase this one, although it’s different enough to not being a redundand purchase. And i haven’t repurchased my original Terre edt, when I emptied a bottle, several years ago,so who knows...I like Eau tres fraiche a lot!

House Adams

Does anybody get a bit of Bvlgari Man Black Cologne??

Earthy Citruses with some Floral accords... Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche doesn't have that touch of sweet Rum that BMBC does. But I assume those similar "dirty" or earthy Citruses / Orange with Florals is what I am picking up.

Anyway - Both great fragrances.

I'm a relative novice but I have found that I love both citrus and vetiver scents. Terre D'Hermes eau Tres Fraiche delivers a masterful blend of both. It is citrusy fresh but has a has a nice earthy base. Seems to have pretty good projection for the first couple hours but it dissipates over time. I guess I agree that this is a summery scent but I tend to wear it on and off all year long.

MrAbbas

My favorite from the Terre D'Hermes line. The freshest and great for summer or office setting. Smells to me like clementine with a hint of woodiness. I love it and you can't go wrong. The only complain is performance is reallyyyy bad and shaky but it is an EDT afterall.

CheMalik

If mid-summer afternoon brunches could be packaged into a fragrance, it would be Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche! This masterpiece is white, button down ready! It's less bitter, and more fresh/aquatic than the original TDH, which I really like. It has decent projection for the first 2 hours, then becomes a skin scent for the next 6-7 hrs. It's ok to be a little liberal with the sprays (I do about seven. 2 on each side of the neck, one in the back, and one on the inside of each elbow.) TDH Eau Tres Fraiche is a masculine, Classy, modern, versatile, and crowd pleasing scent that will get you compliments. It's doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does improve on some old ones. Without sounding cliche, this is summer in a bottle!

Bison blues

Reminds me of a Mexican food restaurant.. don’t know why. I like the original much better. This smells a little weird to me and it seems confused.

Benguin7

Wow man. This is masterfully blended. It's a perfect effervescent gradient from patchouli/cedar in the base to vetiver/geranium in the mid to a light tangerine sea spray in the top. What's amazing is how such a light, airy, fresh, citrus, herbal, green, aquatic can last for 10 hours. All of the elements stay magically together with a slow change to the base over a whole day or more.

This a pure piece of scent structural art work. A masterpiece. That will never. Ever, be out of my collection and regular use. Any season. Any occasion. So long as you are in the mood for feeling fresh, oceanic, resplendently surrounded by geranium and smooth crisp vetiver, and soaked in juicy/hyperrealistic/mouthwatering tangerine. Sunny, bright. And joyful.

10/10.

Hit close to 70 degrees in the Northeast US a couple days this week, in November mind you. So, out came Eau Tres Fraiche. I love the Parfum with it’s deep Vetiver, Orange & earthy undertones that project an air of class & sophistication. Yes, not for everyone and certainly not for the teenie boppers of today that scream for sweet and synthetic chemical melanges that get swallowed up in today’s world of modern perfumery creations that the young and feeble hordes can’t get enough of. Nothing wrong with that as that is the youthfulness and brashness coming through of a potential frag connoisseur in their budding stage of fragrance maturity or immaturity if you will.

Then comes along Eau Tres Fraiche. Younger, a bit more brash and slightly daring in the sea of aroma sameness. Still exhibiting some of it’s older siblings touch of flair and class yet, projecting an exuberance of pinouche & boldness. It takes a bit of both from the Eau de toilette & Parfum while eliminating the Vetiver that those two are renown for and giving Tres Fraiche it’s own identity while not straying far from the lineage of Terre D’Hermes. The best thing is that both young & old can wear this without reservation of age lines. 21 years of age and heading out with friends on a warm night for some drink, eats & fun? Check. 55 and heading to your favorite eatery with your significant other, a family/friends gathering (pre/post Covid-19) or just enjoying a warm weather stroll at one’s favorite outdoor destination? Double Check. It does it all and does it well for a broader range of ages than the other two for the warmer days of life.

Tres Eau Fraiche is definitely a worthy acquisition that stands equal with it’s older and more charmed brethren. A subtle but, worthy injection of youthfulness that adds a needed versatility in the whole Terre D’Hermes line up. Different from the rest of today’s fresh concoctions that have somewhat failed in creating an invigorating, fresh yet classic scent that will be mainstream today, tomorrow and for years to come.

Get the big 6.7oz. bottle if you can. You’ll blow right through it in no time.....

sofiadore

Really nice, clean , fresh citrus and performs quite well. Reminds me of those chalky, orange flavored calcium supplements I had to take as a kid though.

caifan

Terre Eau Tres Fraiche is very reminiscent of the original Terre style, but more citrus and less mineral. The essence is bitter orange or orange peel smell. Probably easier to use for those who find it very strong original Terre. With excellent quality and ideal for summer or less cold seasons.

veeen8

Every spray is a fizzy orange soda. It's juicy, refreshing, light and quenches my thirst, this coming from all-year summer Singapore.

In my opinion, no other designer fragrances has a cologne that matches this level of "freshness". The aquatic ones are simply too harsh and synthetic. This one is natural and pleasant. It's a dumb reach.

Dries down to a subtle woody base. Longevity is decent and it only projects under heat. If you're indoors in a temp-controlled environment, this fragrance hides under your skin. It'll come out the moment you step outdoors and perspire it out.

So try it. I was initially hesitant reading the reviews on its projection and longevity, but it's pretty decent! Overspray a little, on your clothes too, and you'll get to enjoy this refreshing orange soda.

Nothing beats TdH ETF at this price-point. Trust me.

olfactoryfan

An effervescent and effortlessly fresh scent engineered to help maintain any gentleman's cool when the weather's hot.

This sparkly citrus-centric cologne follows a well-defined formula, but it has a couple of twists that ensure it earns a spot on my shelf.

Firstly, it has the added depth and dimension that comes from the original EDT/EDP's distinctive minerally note, albeit in a tamer guise. And secondly, unlike many citrus scents, this one actually has some horse power, so it sticks around on my skin with appreciable longevity.

In Eau Tres Fraiche, the dirty orange has been exchanged for fresh, juicy fruit. You could think of this one as the cooler younger brother who doesn't take things as seriously as his sensible big bro.

A refreshing, classy way to accentuate the energy of Spring and Summer.

Andy the Frenchy

Spicy/sour watery synthetic orange. I agree with previous reviews that state the overall sensation of "plastic". I find the name misleading, as I think this flanker has lost the freshness of the original EDT.

This is my least favourite of the Terre d'Hermes line, but the decent pricing and surprisingly decent performance (given its "Summer cologne" status), might please some. A pass for me.

Warmer days, 20+

discardedandroid

This fixes everything I didn't like about the original. It's no longer a rotten orange peel surrounded by damp earth, rather it's a bright, fresh orange peel with hints of that mineral goodness. Super classy and clean, fresh daily driver material. Recommend.

blokerman

i love this and voyage.
too gud both.
all those tat think these got poor performance, just try 2 sprays, and watch, and feeeeel !!!

vadlee1995

Performance update: due to my curiousity I wear this in the evening and the longevity skyrockets to 7 hours. I am now perplexed to either vote it as moderate or long lasting.

curt42

Really luv this one. Has the realistic orange citrus note everyone raves about. Then the woods and vetiver come up, not as strong or astringent as Hermes EDT. The quality of the fragrance is akin to sitting in the shade of a cedar tree with a crate of mandarin oranges. A breeze wafts the sap-filled wood one moment and the oranges the next. Honestly, this is so good I don't care if I have to reapply every two hours. My new summer go to.

unovis

A blast of hyperrealistic citruses! Then, it settles down to a cool, slightly woody and spicy fragrance. A unisex one, in my opinion. Patchouli gives it the „terre” vibe. On very hot days this is one of the best choices for the office or for city walks in the sun. It doesn’t last long, though. I like to wear it when my husband does.

noseblind77

Man do I love the opening! Wife hates the rest

modalee81

The best orange in the designer game right now. Eau Tres Fraiche keeps the base DNA of the OG but makes things more bright and fun. You get a great citrus orange opening with a woody slightly creamy dry down. It also has a dash of Hermes Voyage in the dry down that I love. Perfect summer fragrance

9.5/10

Hojunhu

Terre for the Terre hater. Ideal for summer and incredibly fresh. I'd rather just wear Terre D'Hermes, but if it's too hot, I reach for this. Only thing I wished is for this to last longer. I find myself having to spray extra just to get through an 8 hour day.

More crowd pleasing and fresh than Terre.

harperhilton

i love this almost as much as the original terre in the aftershave lotion formulation (which i decant from its huge pour bottle into a spray atomizer and spritz liberally as an edt.) this terre fraiche is fresher (duh) with a twist of caraway. mmmm

Matt3Spurs

I blind bought this as it was heavily discounted and I heard the hype on YouTube. I’m glad I did, the orange in this is amazing, not too sweet and the earthy woody base makes it unique to what I have smelt before. Spring and summer staple for me now. Longevity is very good and sillage is moderate. Don’t hesitate in picking this up

cashewdoc

The best citrus-based fragrance I've tried. There's a fascinating earthy depth here that you often can't get in something so light and airy. This is my new summer go-to, it performs perfectly on a warm humid day. Very natural and mature. Like a bowl of fresh orange peels soaking in a pitcher of ice cold water beside a forest and gentle stream.

Cheech93

Just tried it, and have to say this a very unique, classy take on the citrus-wood frag. You get the bitter orange, which is refreshing, and almost something powdery and lipstick (which I'm guessing is the geranium) in the background while still being masculine. Ladies could prob pull this off though. I would say this is for guys 25+. Just a very good citrus scent for the summer to smell fresh, crisp, and different!

esikko

I love all perfumes from Terre family. I am a woman, but i like wearing them. This one is my new favourite from the Terre line, mostly because of the gorgeous geranium. I smell lots of it for the first 15 minutes, then it unfortunately fades away, leaving the familiar, wonderful Terre basenotes.

RonSmith

Smells like a Clementine extract.
Scent is decent, good performance.

Not for me. There are tons of better citrus based fragrances in the market.
5/10 for me.

bl.fak

I generally try not to get too technical in my reviews because so many others already do that, and often there’s no point in trying to push the analysis further. Nobody needs me to break down the notes or endurance of any of today’s most popular fragrances - it would just be a copy and paste job.

But that’s where this one differs slightly for me. My nose seems to be sensing something that most others are not - but only to the point where I feel I may be splitting hairs. For me, the geranium is the driving force of Eau Tres Fraiche, while the citrus rides shotgun. And though that direction initial caught me off guard because of the reviews I had read beforehand, it has proven to be as stunning and jubilant as anything I’ve laid my nose on.

Eau Tres Fraiche takes me to sunny Saturday mornings in the August heat of the farmers market. And sitting on the porch for hours with a cool drink, refill after refill. The essence of it is so invigorating that it reminds me of the burst of energy one feels after a good workout.

This is more than a fragrance - it’s an essential tonic, restorative and refreshing for the soul. Don’t ever change.

GiannisP

Nice mandarin, orange scent, so fresh and uplifting! It's a summer version of Terre d'Hermes, with a very prominent orange, mandarin note. Very good for summer and spring, it's different than the usual citrus base fragrance. The longevity is average but i get good projection! Simple but different!

Juli Liu

Sparkling water, simple but I love it!

Jevans492

Very strong citrus in the opening. Reminds me a little of bug-spray but in a good way, however the dry down is where this frag really shines. Definitely recommend!

vadlee1995

Terre D'hermes Eau Tres Fraiche is an artwork in a bottle!

I can't put my nose off my skin when I wear it. Metaphorically, it brings my soul to picking an orange from its tree, and peeling it right away whilst the day is raining lightly—as if you're picturing a painting of water, earth and orange in one canvas; very artistic indeed!

Projection is fine, longevity is 4-5 hours. Would've easily given this niche-supposed-to-be-gem a perfect 10/10 by scent quality alone, yet as a whole fragrance, 9/10 would do the justice. Spring-Summer masterpiece, in my humble opinion.

92juanjavier

This is the light version of Terre d'Hermès, it is a very, very light fragrance, with a non-existent sillage, perhaps during the first 10 minutes it is noticeable, but soon it becomes a skin-scent.
The longevity is about 3 hours, at least on my skin.
It smells fresh, delicious, but I still keep the original.

ro_ro_123

This is my favourite of the Terre d'Hermes family. I have worn the original Eau de Toilette, and Eau Intense Vetiver. It also bears a very strong resemblance to another Ellena work, Cartier's Declaration Essence - it has a similar cumin-cardamom-like quality at some point.
I read below someone describing this as 'a bowl of oranges', and I really would have to agree.
You know when you peel an orange with your hands, and you can see the essential oil from the skin spray out - this fragrance smells like this moment, and I love it.
This would be a very elegant signature scent for any male. It is quite literally 'Eau Tres Fraiche', but it wears very well, you would not need to re-apply throughout the day like you would with most EDC's.
For me, there is something just too mineral-fresh to wear day-in, day-out, but I find myself reaching for it often.
A lovely fragrance, and one I am very happy I purchased.
This would be very elegant on a woman, and a lovely fragrance for a couple to share, tres chic!

ts4r

It's like peeling open citruses for hours.

Here's a fun trick with this one: spray a few times and revisit the room 20-30 minutes later with your eyes closed.

It will feel like you've walked into a hall of ripe citruses. The cedar/isoe carry the perfumes to the 5 hour mark.

Longevity and projection are well within the standard expectations for a fragrance of this type. Ladies will love this one because it has an understated character to it. You will smell "chic".

9/10 + 0.5 for such amazing prices at discounters = 9.5/10

If you wonder what a masterpiece is look no further

Bexxx656

This unfortunately does kind of smell like lemony curry to me. It kind of annoys me that the spice note is not listed. Honestly if it didn’t have that spice I would probably wear it more. Still, I do wear it occasionally I guess when I am in the mood for lemon curry.
Does smell high quality though.

Caldrumr

I also have the parfum, and this is basically a lighter, more citrusy version.
This takes out the strong oakmoss scent, and boosts the orange significantly.
Fresh, with a nice powerful tang of bitter orange peel.
Nice and refreshing, but classy and sophisticated at the same time.
Quite a nice warm-weather scent.

and_then_some_7

Spent the week trying 4 fragrances from the Terre d'Hermes line.
Ranking them in order:
1) Eau Tres Fraiche - My favorite. The orange note here is amplified and even has a brighter feel to it. Definitely a hot summer day scent. This even seems to have a stronger sillage and longevity than the others mentioned below. If I had to buy a full bottle, it would be this one.
2) Eau Intense Vetiver - Starts off with a nice citrus, then the vetiver comes in during the dry-down, and it's a very nice smelling vetiver. Got a hug from a co-worker that I haven't seen in awhile, and she said I smelled very good. Longevity is solid.
3) Parfum - The grapefruit note is more pronounced at the beginning. It's quite nice. I could really smell the mineral note in the dry-down, but it's not offensive or harsh in anyway though. Longevity was ok.
4) EDT - Saving this for last may not have been the best idea because it just seemed like a weaker version of some notes from the vetiver and parfum. Longevity and sillage weren't that great either. Don't get me wrong, this still smells great, but you'd have to likely spray more than usual to get average performance.

Spirit Rose

Someone below mentioned a cumin note that’s not listed. I thought I smelled it too, but then thought maybe it was the geranium I was smelling. It caught me off guard, but it doesn’t smell bad. Lady’s, don’t be afraid to try this one. It’s really quite unisex to me.

WhaleFingers

Initial blast is a bit much, however it settles quickly. Bitter orange is a great note, though it leans more feminine than I care for. I'll just stick with my bottles of regular Parfum, and Eau Intense Vétiver. Worth a look to see if it's right for you.

marcel2782

This is in a whole different level of common summer freshies. Drydown consolidates a perfumery masterpiece: pure and just slightly bitter orange in a moist woody background. Geranium and patchouli gives it that ART move closure and depth to elevate this to niche level to say the least. What else must be said about one of the best, if not the best, designer summer scent in the market today? Excellent office choice too. Good projection lasting 1h or so and longevity up to 6h.

clintjr82

This is a simple and awesome fresh scent for a MAN. This is Masculine , not a unisex feel. It has a slight soapy grapefuit pepper scent. Not overly citric. The lasting performance is good 6hrs at least. I always get good feed back on the scent. This is a good buy for the summer and a collection. Classic for me, along with the original.

Isabel Lop

A beautiful smell of paper, pages, words, even a stamps collection.
No more.

ysl187

I like it i dont love it! I use it as one of my gym scents.. i dont find the longevity that bad and if i am running outside i get vifts of it all the time...
Fresh Bitter orange is what i get. 7/10

Canadaparfum

Basically the summer version of Terre D'Hermès.

Lighter, airier version, with an orange that is a bit more bitter than the original.

It is bitter and fresh... less earthy... spray a bit indoors and spray heavily for outdoors.

Overpspraying indoors will make you smell too bitter.

Average projection and low longevity.

7.5/10

actor33

As a person whose signature fragrance is Terre d'Hermes, I can say that I didn't like this fragrance. Yes, the quality is so good, the orange note is very natural and the performance is great as a fresh scent but it's too sour to wear. Not sexy at all. It's even too sour and maybe too realistic to wear at gym. This fragrance totally needs more notes for balance. However if you'd like to smell like bright, natural, sour orange go for it

Kialonti84

Take it from me friends, this juice is simply amazing. This is one of the most natural orange smelling designer fragrances I've gotten my nose on. This fragrance fits perfectly for the hot, humid Louisiana weather. Five sprays of this goodness gets me close to six hours longevity, with two hours projection. The scent trail is 2-3 feet. I love how this fragrance is extremely orange and earthy.

To me the most dominant notes are the oranges and other citruses, and the woods. Terre d'Hermes ETF is very different from most modern mainstream fragrances. Don't get many compliments from it, but hell... I wear colognes for me first. Everyone else is just privileged to smell it.

Freshaquatic

Bought this for my partner and absolutely love it on him, but I wear it occasionally.

The intensely rich, drinkable citrus opening, bolstered cleverly with geranium creates what I find to be a sophisticated outdoor, spring and summer fragrance. As the overt citrus of the opening becomes less obvious, Eau Tres Fraiche dries down to resemble something closer to Terre d'Hermes - which is a good thing in my opinion.

Longevity is average, and most of the projection is done in the first 30 minutes. The floaty citrus component is short-lived but you will be smelling this in wafts around the wearer for at least a few hours. A nice transition as the sun goes down behind the hills at the vineyard and the night wears on. This stays on skin overnight.

Sold in large bottles, because you will just keep wanting to spray this delicious summery juice!

NapaRon

Fresh juicy citrus open, but I found that cumin note identified by another reviewer kicks in pretty quickly. Nice & fresh, but that note makes it funky. Good for outdoor wear & It begins to morph into a watery robust spicy wood. Loses the cumin note which moves toward geranium on the dry down. Better then. Base drys to a fresh airy almost ambergris note. Its my favorite part of the fragrance. It starts around the 2 hr mark & floats back in & out for another 2-3 hours. Basically a skin scent at that point, but I enjoy it!

Abilolado_2019

Terre Fraiche has smell of terre, orange and air.
Evoke the every instincts of nature.
When i used Terre Fraiche, my legs stay soft, my arms loose the control and my mind trip for the reverse world.
I really like this perfume.

Fischer84

You really need to be aware of the cumin note in this. It is a note that to many people smells like body sweat. The note is not listed but it is definitely there. It's Jean Claude Ellena's signature note. Consider yourself warned. It opens with a very natural orange. It smells like someone's pealing an orange next to you. Then comes the cumin very soon after. Please test this on your skin and not on paper. Cumin really comes out on skin because it needs a bit of heat. If you just smell this on paper you won't get an accurate wearing impression. This smells nothing like the other Terre d'Hermes variations. It smells much more like a variation of Cartier Declaration, which is also composed by Ellena. Despite the cumin note, I still find this a good scent, but more in a raunchy, funky way - not in a fresh and clean way. I'd be careful wearing this to work or school or any formal setting because some people might interpret the cumin note as sweat. I'd say it's great for going out to a bar or a night club, a wild night out, where that raunchy cumin note is not out of place.

Mo_Liverpool

The citrus opening is very bright, light and airy. We are talking orange, mandarin and clementine, specifically. Pure clarity and lightness. The opening is great and the real strength of the fragrance. I very quickly pick up a slightly musky smell, reminiscent of human effluence. It may be the vetiver. Something about the much lighter, sharper citrus in this flanker may be making the vetiver smell different and more potent then the other blends. Such a shame, as this is otherwise a good summer scent.

gabiborza

This has to be one of my favourite citrus scents ever! The orange is sooo good! And this one lasts a whole working day! I will be wearing this one a lot this summer!!

thethe

Awesome fragrance but men like it more than women.

ObiWanCannoli

This opens up with the most realistic juice Orange I have ever smelled in a fragrance. It’s smells just like freshly squeezed orange juice. This is met with aquatic and floral notes that remind me of a laundry detergent.

I enjoy the Terre D’Hermes EDT and wear it to work in the fall. I think the reviews are accurate that this flanker that is less polarizing than the EDT/EDP. I bought a decant with the intention of purchasing a full bottle. But the performance is really subpar.

For the first 30 minutes the silage and projection radiate about an arms length. Then it projects about a 6-12 inches until the 2 hour mark. It stays as a skin scent until about 3 hours, then it’s gone. I expected some drop off in performance because it’s a fresh scent, but this is unacceptable performance to me.

Scent: 8/10
Uniqueness: 7/10
Projection 4/10
Longevity: 3/10

Sour Orange and balsamic

Waiting for a long time to try it, and worth a while... this cologne open with realistic orange that’s sour and juicy in the opening than a few seconds it continue with balsamic ( that make it so dirty and a bit animalic ) on my skin it a bit dirty sweet like sweat, anyway this animalic doesn’t last so long, it appear only 20-30 minutes before transform to same orange as Terre D’Hermes ( without earthy vibe and lighter Vetiver ) just imagine you put a few drops of Terre D’Hermès pure perfume on a cool lemonade with ice rocks in it.

Scent: 8.5/10 ( It could be 10/10 for the summer )
Projection: 7/10 ( not bad for light citrus scent )
Longevity: 8/10 ( better than I expected, 4-6 hours )

Compare to Terre D’Hermes edt. this is a kind of safe scent for starting to try this line, light, fresh and still has a depth with balsamic vibes. This cologne keep glows on me in a hot day. Much much better than expected.

Edited: After 6 hours (applying 4 sprays) yesterday in the heat outside of summer people around me still can smell it (2 meters) and asking me “ You wearing Terre D’Hermes?” Wow! Projection still good after 6 hours. ( 32C degree) And I said “ No. It is Terre D’Hermes Eau Très Fraiche”

MNadz

Holy freshly peeled juicy orange opening!!!

I reviewed TDH EDT stating I loved the dry down immensely, but could not get past the dirty orange opening that lasted for way to long to get to the dry down. Although I loved the dry down of TDH EDT, I still disliked it because I just couldn’t get past its opening.

Not here...this opening for me is CRAZY juicy, citrusy and fresh. I will use the word love for the opening...and like EDT...it does last for awhile before you get to the woody base.

Now the dry down - it is not 100% like the EDT, but IMHO, it is 85/90%...which still puts me in a place of loving the dry down.

I am so happy I got a sample of this and discovered it. I was so upset that I couldn’t push through EDTs top notes to get to the great woodsy dry down. NOW, in this one, I get a great opening and almost that great dry down.

No doubt I’m purchasing this one for Spring and Summer.

Diptak Dutta

A very bright and energetic mood uplifting scent. This is a citrus scent done right. The citrusy freshness in it feels like spring in full bloom. Beautiful freshly peeled orange with a hint of bitterness from the orange peel. A fresh spicy heart from the geranium with beautifully blended woodsy base. All in all a patch of refreshment during the high summer days. Not my favourite summer freshie but probably will find a place in my cupboard.

dpwms

I like the scent very much, but it is the worst-performing fragrance I own.

Veedabestchef

This has been on my top 10 fragrance for spring and summer for 5 years now. Cool and refreshing feel type of fragrance. Its not that boring just plain citrus fragrance. This one is woody citrus fragrance and it has that dna earthy type of smell just like the original one but a lighter version. Its crisp refreshing and feels like vacation on an island. Also great on a cooler weather. A great fragrance from Hermes.

scentitar

One of my favorite fragrances !

For me, this is a much better version of the original. I get a fresh, not rugged orange. I get neroli and maybe a little mint, but the geranium adds a nice edge to the composition. The earthiness of the original is replaced with more of a mineral feel.

This fragrance gets me much more compliments, is easier to wear and has just as long longevity, but performs even better on my skin.

For me this is a 10 out of 10 in the designer world !

nszlufik

This takes the original EDT and adds bright citruses atop the orange note. The original was spicy and earthy with a noticeable orange note that was well blended whereas this one offers a bright and energetic citric punch before settling into a spicy woody citrus. I enjoy this for summer because it isnt so overbearing in the spice department which when compared to the more common citrusy aquatic/marine/fesh scents makes this more unique.
A spiciness reminiscent of the smell of cumin is detected by my nose despite it not being listed as a note. This aspect of it puts me a little on edge normally but it is nowhere near the cumin I detect in TOUS 1920 The Origin which, while also nice, I had to sell due to the cumin note that I did not enjoy. While this doesnt sound so impressive, when I first spray this on, it reminds me of bug spray or citronella. I still enjoy it and I will keep my 3+ oz bottle

Guinea54

@smellgood. I have to disagree with you, even though I can understand why you make the comparison. I was a huge fan of the original dior sport. This is definitely not a clone of that on my skin, but has some similar traits. the biting citrus, and the spices in here, which smells more like a cumin note might give the same warmth the ginger did in dior sport. But dior sport was more of a fresh lemon and ginger combo. THe ginger was warming and almost had a sweet touch to it.. TDH eau tres fraiche has more of a bitter fresh scent, like citrus mixed in with a lot of peels.. It's more salty and almost resinous smelling compared to dior sport. THis one smells more like a "niche" fragrance and has more of a dirty bite to it.. But I would say both fragrances are in the same genre, and can be worn for the same occasions. I prefer the smell of dior sport better, but this one smells more unique and I am growing to like it more

Similar genre, citrus/spices combo.. Clone? I don't think so.

SmellGood11

Wow, that opening is really nice. On first smell I thought: "I've smelled this before. I had a fragrance that smelled like this!". I kept on trying to remember what it was then it hit me. It smells like DIOR HOMME SPORT BY CHRISTIAN DIOR. The original version. I see they have made several DHS formulations. I'm talking about the clear bottle with the near clear looking juice.

I might be going crazy but it smells almost exactly like it.

Which is a good thing considering how well reviewed Dior Homme Sport is. I got rid of my bottle of Dior Homme Sport because it would only last like 20 minutes on my skin and it costs double what I got this fragrance for. So considering this is a Dior Homme Sport clone for half the price. Consider that a win in my books! I just sprayed it on me. I guess I'll have to see how long it lasts.

I searched if anyone else got the same vibe and I guess I'm the first person to relate it to DHS. I see people below mentioning Dior Homme Cologne. I can't imagine that smells as close as this does to DHS. Anyone want to confirm my nose on this? I like to think I'm never wrong until I'm wrong. :-)

EDIT: Ok it's been several hours since my review above. This is an exact clone of DHS but it last so much longer on my skin. I absolutely love this. I feel so much better about this purchase than I did with DHS. I spent a lot of $$$ without any performance. This is a lot better bargain. It doesn't project very far but the scent lasts longer on my skin. It would perform better in warm/hot weather just like DHS. This fragrance is going to need quite a few sprays. Probably 4-6 sprays since it doesn't project much in the first place. It's a very welcoming scent. Not cloying or annoying. Perfectly safe as a work scent. I'd imagine a very rich sports athlete wearing this. It is masculine and smells like success. Like a businessman at the top of his game. It really is a special smell. The dry down is just divine. Like a woodsy, powdery, floral scent with hints of orange in the background. Which is the opposite of the initial top notes when first sprayed which is mostly orange/citrus then hints of wood/floral. Be careful smelling this during the dry down because you might have issues stopping yourself from smelling your own skin. You might end up in the corner of the room cuddling with yourself. lol

A solid, rather unique citrus. As its name suggests, very fresh... but also the weakest of the Terre d'Hermès line. The only thing keeping me from totally writing it off is that they were able to preserve the delicate, delicious balance between citrus, aromatics, and dirt which makes the EDP and EDT so incredible. Here, they are present but greatly diminished. Somehow, this also smells strangely preppy to me; it lacks the depth and complexity of the others, but if you're looking for a good citrus for hot weather, this may be the solution for you. Longevity a bit lacking, sadly. I would opt for the EDP, which is one of the most well balanced and versatile fragrances around.

SOTD: Terre d'hermes Eau Tres Fraiche by Hermes
5 Sprays from 10 ml Pen Spray (Decanted from official samples)

Eau Tres Fraiche (ETF) is summer flanker of a very popular Terre d'hermes. Original tends to lean more towards Fall and Winter whereas ETF is purely its summer offering.

Terre d'hermes is often called "Dirty Earthy Orange", this analogy doesn't hold at all for ETF. ETF starts with Orange DNA of the Original but it is very much watered down. Term "watered down" does not at all mean that it lacks performance because it has better than average performance. There is one more note that is not listed in its Fragrantica page but it is very prominent to my nose is Cardamom. Scent of ETF is very linear, light citrus orange and cardamom remains till the end.

Personally, i love this fragrance and its my favorite from the whole line. It is one of those fragrance that you can wear when you are not in mood to wear any fragrance. I plan to buy complete bottle come next summer.

Longevity: 6-7 Hours
Projection: Very Light (2 Hours max)
Silage: Does not leave scent trail imo

The original formula with some mint, herbs and a touch of gernanium. Very fresh, very good. Great flanker from Hermes.

This is a great fresh woody fragrance. Orange and cedar.
A great freshy for the cold months, like now. Going back into my loves list...
Nice touch of geranium!

This Terre is a Bvlgari Aqva Atlantiqve that made it. Citrus fruits, aquatic notes and cedar the absolute protagonists. The rest feels little or nothing. Nothing to do with water, summer, freshness but ... The exact opposite: It 'a citrusy fragrance but very hot. In the summer it turns into something really powerful so if you wear it, do not worry: You will be noticed but it is not known whether negatively or positively (depending on the tastes). It's not bad but not even something astonishing. Let's say that it has the potential of ancient, classic colonies (also in terms of persistence). It reminds me so much of the Calabrian orange groves where sometimes, I spend a few Sundays alone, contemplating the weather, the sky, the earth.

The fragrance is beautiful and refreshing, but the fragrance remains weak

This one opens with a fulsome burst of citrus. We’re not talking a dull, pedestrian splash of bergamote which swiftly becomes redundant as other notes take over.

This is a gorgeously bright citrus which dominates the fragrance top-to-bottom. Of course there’s the trademark orange of the original Terre, but it’s nestled in amongst other citruses that aren’t individually identified in the note listing and not easily identifiable to my nose. If I had to guess, I’d say there’s a nice dose of lemon and grapefruit in the mix.

These are not citruses based in the flowers or leaves of the tree, nor in the rind of the fruit. There’s no soapiness or sharp bitterness present here. It’s a pure, unadulterated and very juicy citrus similar to what one would expect from freshly squeezed pulp.

The ruggedness of the original has not been entirely lost either. But instead of dense, unyielding vetiver, Eau Tres Fraiche is propped up by cedar and other raw, mineralic woods. The woodsy notes remain suitably restrained, but yield an additional vitality which wonderfully complements those crisp citruses.

Watery notes are also listed, but they aren’t of the cheap, chemical-aquatic variety. I can’t actually pick out the watery notes myself (I mean, what does water smell like, exactly?) however they seem to amplify the ultra clean feel of the citruses.

Overall, what you get is a very transparent and natural smelling citrus-dominant scent with forest floor nuances, that grows steadily more transparent as it develops. It’s vibrant, fresh and very easy to wear. It’s also incredibly likeable, to the point that it’s hard to imagine anyone hating it.

To be clear, however, this isn’t simply a cheaper, watered-down version of Terre. Eau Tres Fraiche is its own fragrance, and although it possesses a lightness that is not found in the OG, none of the quality is lacking.

Good enough to be a signature for warm weather time through the fall or the office year round. It is a complete scent that is dynamic, well composed and utilizes great oils for a designer level fragrance. Highly recommended to all, especially niche heads that have lost faith in designer.

I got this from Sephora a couple of years back after smelling it on a paper strip. I thought this would be the perfect summer frag. However, I have some concerns. I may be in the minority with this impression but after applying it a few minutes in, the orange citrusy notes get pushed away by a cumin note that smells very much like peppery BO on me. Thankfully, it doesn't last and it dries down into a normal TdH ETF. I'll just have to time it so that when that cumin note kicks in, I'm not near anyone who'd think I didn't shower that morning!

Benguin7

This is truly a magnificent fragrance. I've been alternating use of TdH edt and this one. And I'm just blown away by the hyperrealism of the flint and citrus in this one. It's so fresh and invigorating that for me... it's just more inspiring and fun than it's older brother. To the point where after some experimentation I'm just drawn to this one more. I need to get a new bottle soon. It's just fantastic.

This stuff is excellent! Not your typical citrus-dominated frag.

It immediately starts out smelling like a legitimately peeled, juicy orange backed by an earthy undertone. The earthy undertone reminds me of the bittery-waxiness of the orange peel.

The initial blast is mouth watering.

15 min in, the grapefruit starts appearing. Nothing much has changed, In fact, this gets even more bight, happy and cheery. The earthiness is still slightly there to give it another dimension.

The citruses remains with the woody-earthy undertones. This is pure citrus quality. Not your everyday citrus frag. The wood backs it up in a way to make this stuff a masculine masterpiece.

A great, quality, superb citrus-woody fragrance.

One of the freshest most uplifting scents I have encountered so far. I love the fresh bright orange opening which creates an instant feeling of refreshment. The wood notes and patchouli give the scent an earthy vibe which contrasts very well with the freshness of the orange.

This makes a perfect Summer scent for any occasion and will get noticed. I would say its a safer buy than the original TDH. Probably my most worn scent this Summer which has received many compliments for its freshness and cleanness. Scent performs well with 4 sprays and will give modest projection throughout its duration.

If your a fan of the original TDH or orange/citrus scents then this is a definite must try...

A classic. A so fresh so clean and dirty scent, for the man that wants to be fresh on some days. I get grapefruit, water, and woods. It will get noticed, compliments etc. Either the original or this one gets the job done depending on what season your in or the occasion.

Cornerstoneway

There is a crisp citrus in this fragrance that is hard to come by. There is an unmistakably masculine harsh vibe to this, but it maintains an aura of sophistication classy and expensive taste. It smells like a juicy lemon-lime-orange blast. There is nothing that says I’m a fun young man in this fragrance. It means business and it definitely has gotten me good compliments. This fragrance is for when it’s extremely hot out and you are dressed sharp. I wouldn’t go heavy on the trigger because that is just my style, I think it can come off pretty piercing if you overspray. I can feel it escaping my bubble with 3 sprays and even though it is generally mass appealing it is also very unique. It’s a must have and it makes my top 5 list.

Finickydesert

this is a great fragrance to have in Florida. the original felt too heavy for me when winter lasts for 3 weeks to a month at most down here. it's a great choice if you are in warm weather and not want to wear an aquatic.

corvin

Very fresh take on original Terre. Starts with a blast of beautiful and high quality citruses. There is no cheapness nor synthetic vibe in the opening, which is usually a thing with many other citrus fragrances. Fresh citruses stay present whole life, but in 30 mins base of the original Terre starts to be dominant.

I really love this fragrance. It is perfect for summer, especially in those super hot summer days.

Love, love, love.

Quite nice citrus up top with some of the TdH hallmark notes coming through on the dry down. Feels like a watery TdH EDT. Unfortunately, it performs like one, too, on my skin. While it's pleasant enough, and certainly easy to wear in the hot months, it's also as fleeting as it is pleasurable.

I get well below average performance (1-2 hours) on my skin with it becoming a skin scent within an hour. By hour 3 it's all but gone.

A 6.0/10 for me. It smells quite nice, and is refreshing, but its quite nice opening belies its ghost-like experience.

lechapelierfou

@ILikePeeps I have a 2014 bottle and the scent vanishes after 40 minutes off of my skin. Nobody can smell it on me after one hour and I also do 7 sprays of this.

So you better move in your office building and live there if you want compliments because if you put the fragrance on, commute for more than half an hour, nobody will smell it on you when you arrive to work.

Maybe it's just skin chemistry but this surely doesn't last more than 5 hours on my clothes.

Having said that: the scent is gorgeous and it is a summer staple for when I want to be fresh, even for one hour whilst I go walk the dogs.

ILikePeeps

It's blowing my mind how people are saying this is strong or has great longevity/projection/whatever. This has terrible performance on me.

I'm not sure if this is largely humidity dependent. I live in TX where the humidity is really high, so that could be surpressing it a lot, I don't know.

I had a 4.2oz bottle before and sold it. Decided to get it again and received a 6.7oz 2015 batch. Bottle is freaking amazing! Hefty too.

To give some perspective, I put on like 7 sprays (a lot..) and went to work. Later on during the workday I asked in the office if anyone noticed it - nope. Today I put some on my inner elbow, and it seems to become a skin scent in around ~1 hour or so. Got my gf to smell it like ~2.5-4 hours after applying and she said she couldn't even smell it, when smelling RIGHT where I applied. I can still smell it, but faintly. Crazy.

Is this a frag that grows stronger with getting air in the bottle, or was there some 'bad' batches or something? I'm not sure how people are getting like 6/7+ hours with noticeable projection.

As for the smell, yes, I enjoy it. I'm not usually a freshie type of guy, but this is pretty good. Aquatic-y citrus with a light TdH DNA? :)

Edit: April 2019 - So I got another bottle (2015 batch) and well, what can I say - it maybe performed quite well today when I wore it to work. This is a 'weird' one - not sure if it's the Iso E Super or what, but on co-worker right next to me said he didn't smell anything, yet another co-worker immediately commented on it and pointed out the zest aspect of it (maybe somewhere around ~2-3 hours after applying it). I was able to smell it throughout the day. So there's that! :) Looks like I'm keeping this third bottle this time, so far. Haha

deon.low

A very uplifting and bright scent. Very addictive too! Makes more wanna keep smelling it. The bright Lime/Lemony opening got me so hook onto this fragrance.

istvan.buda.779

Love it, but I get citrus, zesty lemon instead of Orange. Love it,regardless

rjf

Bitter orange, grapefruit, faint cedar. Nice.

This juice screams summer. I'm ready to head to the beach now after smelling this gem.

Coppa

I've yet to test this on my skin but I can already say this is a quality scent, just as the edt. The opening for me is almost identical as the edt but the pungent striking orange that is in the edt's opening leans mildly to a sweetish mandarine for the first moments. Other than that it is basically the same scent but a lighter, more "watery" version of it, with not such of an aggressive character and not such of a strong base. This is the friendly brother, the edt is the darker bad ass don't mess with me type. This one has a cool smile on it's face and the edt is looking at you dominating and intimidating. I consider the edt to be wearable all year around but this one is far more appropiate for that and certainly more for the warmer months. Performance is as expected, very good for this type of fragrance, even better than some orientals or gourmand. This being said I prefer the edt overall but I need more testing.

Recently I deemed Terre d'hermes Eau Tres Fraiche a top summer "dumb reach", I think it's actually more complex and can play even a more sophisticated role in your fragrance rotation.
Hermes scored big on the release of terre d'hermes edt, an iconic manly composition; then went even deeper with the pure parfum; and now we have the eau tres fraiche, a 2014 spring and summer King. This was love at first sniff while the rest took a couple of sniffs to be truly understood. Citruses, oranges, geranium, woody notes, cedar, patchouli, and added water notes here produced a fresher version of the original. I still smell a hint of vetiver which is a major player in the original. This is a confirmed master piece imho. Easier to wear in the heat and delivers consistently. Excellent longevity, 6 to 7 hours with acceptable mild projection. This stuff is darn gorgeous. Wear anything from tuxedo to your pajamas and will still be appropriate. Prices are good so do yourself a favor, grab the largest bottle you can find, you'll be happy you did!

torom

I'm a lover of the original and this one lacks its strong character, that for someone is too much and for me is just perfect.

The only issue with the original for me is that I never dress up so that's a bit in contrast with my usual outfits, but I love wearing it anyway and don't want to care.

This one is good for people who like the DNA of the original but found it too strong and piercing. This is a definitely lighter and brighter version but the vibe of the scent is very similar and it keeps the characteristic scent of TdH. It doesn't smell like just another citrus cologne, it smells like the more summery, dress down brother of TdH, and still a bit classy.

However, I love the original too much to choose to wear this, and the performance is way superior in the original.

As a fresh summery casual citrus I'd rather wear John Varvatos Artisan Pure, which is more casual and young than this, more juicy, amazing and unique. Check that out if you haven't, I just wish it performed better, but it seems to perform even better than TdH Eau Trais Fraiche.

Bubbles1964

The nicest citrus cleaning product I've ever worn.

Jokes aside, I really like it. I have not tested the original, but this is a very natural scent on me. Citrus and geranium upfront, perfect for warm weather.

Today I'm working in my garden and wearing Eau Très Fraiche, and it's not out of step. I never expect to get more than 3 hours from a citrus forward scent, and the wood base notes take it past that mark. I can still smell the geranium accord in the drydown. This is full bottle worthy. And if you're wondering, I think it's perfectly unisex.

Arsenal Till I Die

The Citrus in this is annoying and sharp and comes across as a cleaning product/ air freshener . I guarantee if I told someone that I used an air freshener rather than this they wouldn’t have the slightest clue. It has no overall depth either. How this gets so much love and Eau Sauvage cologne doesn’t is beyond me but what can ya do. This resembles Avqua Amara but that’s got so much more oomph and is just a lot more interesting for me and a lot cheaper! Dior Homme Cologne always gets put up against this for summer and the Dior is on another level entirely in my opinion.

Spasticink

to much dirty and earthy geranium for my taste.
Drydown smells like plastic flowers / ciggaret butts.

Initial blast is amazing, one of the best citrus opening but you do not buy frags for initial opening that disapears after 10 min.
